well everything went fine (except I broke the volume slider on the 001 mobo but that doesnt matter)
blacked out all the buttons since the graphite version came with black buttons instead of grey since the color of the unit its self isnt black but more greyish

the L trigger button doesnt seem to work too good, it doesnt respond most of the time,
took it apart, pulled the rubber stopper out and blew into the button, which sort of got it working again (it didnt work at all in the first place)

Wow! This topic is amazing. :) I could learn some neat tricks from you guys. I got 2 GBA's laying around. A 32 and a 40. I wanna join the ranks of the modded.

Same here, once I get a gift card that lets me buy online that is.:ha: I am also planning on installing a mod like the Transverter so I can connect it to a t.v as well. I,m just hoping that the video will also show up on the gba's modded screen. It will be the ultimate OG GBA mod.:yaysp:

Hey everyone, just signed up to say thank you to all involved in getting the word out there for this amazing mod and thank you to Zerey for his outstanding products and service.

Wiggy, your work has inspired me to start painting again and here are a couple of examples of what I have created so far.

Thanks for keeping GBA alive and kicking! =D

Hey man, I like your idea. As a matter of fact, I like yours over to modded GBA. Would be great playing pokemon on TV without using GB Player. :D i don't mind loosing portability too. But it could be nice if you can install a video out, so you can put it in portable again. Good luck on your project

Hopefully it all works out. It's pretty much a backlight mod and the Innovation GBA TV Converter. It will be pretty sweat when I get everything. I'm also going to use this to make let's plays. I'll finally be able to redo my lp but this time with real hardware. Yes I'm getting an ez flash iv as well. What I will get first is the Innovation GBA TV Converter, and the ez flash iv since they are in stock and I have the money for it. This just means I'll have to wait with the backlit mod. :(

Just wanted to report I ended up being another happy Zerey Zhang customer

(low light picture taken using the HDR option on the iphone)

backlit translucent light red (pinkish) GBA + frontlit atomic purple GBC + EMS shipping to Europe = 136$ (in January)

nice guy

Hi guys, I do really need a favour, I wanted to buy a pin adapter for my gba but I cant speak chinese, is there any way of ordering it on an english site?
Will someone do it for me?
I can charge you more.
Thank you for your kindness

Before ordering, I asked the prices of some items, and Zerey gave me these informations :

The ribbon cable is $18
The AGS101 screen is $23.5
AGB001 glass screen cover is $5
AGB001 plastic screen cover is $1
Postal shipping is $5, its slow
Express shipping is $21 ,its quick

--> But to know the price of a premodded GBA, you have to ask him.

Sorry that it took this long. I had to quit the upload.:( But I recorded another one with my android and it uploaded faster today. So I,ll be putting up a new thread with some videos. Including mine so that you guys will get how it will be like. Once I get the thread done, you guys can see it.:yaysp:

I have a question for those that got a complete modded gba from zerey... I just received mine and was trying out several games with it and I noticed some pretty bad streaking when sprites move quickly. It's especially noticeable on quick camera pans like when falling down the pit at the beginning of Castlevania Circle of the Moon. I went back and tried it on my original unlit gba and noticed no such streaking. I never had a backlit ags-101 so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not. I also wonder if maybe my screen isn't calibrated corectly. Anyways, just curious about you guys' experience or if you've noticed anything similar. Thanks!

Has anyone else had trouble installing this backlit screen ?

The connector seems to push on the screen resulting in - barely visible - clouds for me...

How did you guys install this ?

the streaking is normal, the 101 has a worse refresh rate then the normal gba and front lit sp
it was nintendo cutting corners to save money, the back lighting also makes it more noticable

The backlit SP, really? Huh, I noticed that especially in games like Yoshi's Island, but I assumed that was just a result of converting the SNES game to GBA.

Hey all, so, I'm another satisfied Zerey customer, picked up the cable and screen from him. But there's one catch, it would seem. The screen is just not nearly as bright as I'd expected it would be, and I followed the instructions from RCG's site (linked below) on which power lead to solder to (I chose the "high" brightness position). Anyone have any ideas on what this could be? (I do not have an AGS-101 to compare to.)

The other problem I'm having is that it seems like the screen's contrast or sharpness settings are off, dramatically. When I try to play the Classic SMB, Mario looks terrible and is hardly visible, particularly when in motion, and when I play Doom, I can't really even make out the zombies in the first level. Are there ways to adjust this in the GBA?
