Hacking DS lite won't turn on

I really hope this is the right place to ask..
so I've had my ds lite for barely half a month.
the battery went low today so I charged it up,
as soon as the red LED light turned off, I tried turning the system on.
the green light is there, but the screens remain black and there's no sound whatsoever.
also if I plug the charger back in the red LED lights up again,but after a few minutes it turns off,so it's probably charged.
I still have my warranty so if it's something that can't be fixed by me I'll probably take it back to the store.
I'm sorry for possible grammar mistakes,english isn't my first language.

it might be a fuse but

if you have warranty, always take it to the store,
if you mess with ur ds the warranty expires

Why? Warranty is the best thing to have. Never open up and try and fix your DS whilst in warranty. ALWAYS take it back to the store for a refund/exchange.

well you see, they sold me a fake DS lite (I'm assuming, since the box has bad quality images,there was no extra stylus,and there was one badly made instruction booklet. after some googling I realized the bolts were different too,so,yeah.)
and they wouldn't give me my money back, and since DS's are very pricey in here I'm stuck with this one.
I'm kind of..concerned about trusting that store again.
in any way, I was hoping it would have a simple solution, but ,sigh, guess not.
I'll probably take it there tomorrow.
