Aw man, now you made me want something I can't get!zero1221 said:Guy RL, Girl Ingame
Now if only they let me customize the female character with a bikini then I'd be really happy.
Who says you choose a girl because you want to be one?Splych said:Why would you want to be something you aren't?

Why would you want to be something you aren't?

I've played as a girl in PS0 so I guess I can be considered one of those people for this post
A few reasons why someone would want to be a different gender in a game than in real life:
- Said person may be bored of always choosing the same gender for games
- Said person chooses protagonist by what he/she finds to be more aesthetically pleasing
- Said person may feel like he/she is actually the opposite gender in the physical so choosing the opposite gender feels right
- The thought of matching said person's actual gender with their in game gender may not even be of importance to said person
Some people like to project themselves into the game(choosing by actual gender, actual name, etc) whereas some people like to make their character as different/unique/wild/bizarre/ as they can, because they can. It also depends on what game you're playing and the level of femininity/masculinity attached to the storyline. Take Harvest Moon Cute Girl vs. Phantasy Star Zero Girl(s) for example.
There are HUNDREDS of reasons why someone would want to be a different gender in a game than in real life & if you(speaking in general) can't think of even one, you need to get a reality check & flex that mind...grab all the DS brain games or something LOL..nah I'm kidding...not
Usually, I'd agree that Dawn looks the best of all. But somehow I feel something special with Lyra. I don't know what, but she fascinates me for some reason.peeves said:I'm a girl in RL and I usually play as girls in game. However for HeartGold, I couldn't stand the pigtails so I'm playing as a guy. I don't know why they had to add the annoying pigtails, I really like the female sprite from Pearl/Diamond.
For me, the biggest reason I didn't pick the male character in 3rd and 4th gen. They just looked really... odd. With their white hat that looks like hair and their beret.Atomic Revolution said:I'm a male in real life and a male in Pokemon.
I pick the male character in most games unless the male character is not "aesthetically pleasing". Then I'd pick the female character.
Daniel? You mean Ethan?Prect said:I've wondered... What Pokémon does Daniel have if you're a Girl In-Game?
That's a good reason for picking a guy! (I'm serious)Rabbits_Galore said:I'm a girl, and I play a guy.Because girls need t get back in the kitchen
haha, Just kidding. But seriously, guys look way cooler. I feel that the girls are just eye candy.
Mah, I admit that the girl doesn't look exactly girly in HG/SS. But to me, eye candy isn't just "Triple Fs lol".Porygonal said:lol How are the girls eye candy? They're on DS for crying out loud... It's not like their gunna have triple Fs or anything... I don't really think it matters what you choose, but I personally like to pick male characters so I can name them ''Feces''.
