Go to the priiloader settings and make it autoboot the system menu (instead of priiloader)

It's already set there. I can't even uninstall priiloader. It's giving me error saying unable to restore system menu when I try uninstalling it.

Does it give an error number or anything?
Be sure to use cIOS rev14 and the newest version of NeoGamma (R8 or 7)

It says (bear with me, I have a Dutch Wii) something like "An error occurred, please remove the DVD and reset your Wii".

I used cIOS v15 at first (because the guide just said use 14 or 15, so I thought I'd go with the newest), but then after reading your post, I used that delete tool (can't remember it's name) to delete v15 and I used WAD Installer to install v14. Then tried NeoGamma R7 and later on R8B15, still no luck.

Does this softmod + NSMB work with other people's Wii, with the WiiKey still IN the Wii?

i am really happy with it, everything went good only at the trucha bug i needed to restart my wii several times but after the 3rd time it worked!

Thanks for this guide. I have mine all softmodded becuase I did it in the summer, and everything works (even Wii Sports Resort, NSMB, etc). It's sitting at 3.2U

Yesterday, I started to work on my brothers, and I had it so most of my games off my Hard drive were working on his Wii softmodded to 4.2 with this guide.

I screwed around, in an attempt to get Wii Sports Resort working, by installing rev13 that I had on my SD card from summer, becuase it's fixed games in the past...

Now all USB loader games are black or give DSI exception errors on my brother's Wii.

I went through your guide, again, on his Wii and now games crash to the system menu, or give a black screen. I'm at my wit's end on this one.

Would you suggest reverting my brothers 4.2U to 3.2U and using something like rev13, or rev10 (something I'm pretty comfortable with), and manually installing like 35, and 55 or whatever (For Madworld and Animal Crossing).

I don't understand these new 222, and 223 IOS by Hermes or whatnot. And I have a feeling that the newest 4.2 already has 35, and 55, and all those that we had to manually do in the summer, included.
Or even downgrade to 3.2U, then Upgrade BACK to 4.2, since the games were working last night at 4.2

I shouldn't have touched it. Everything was working except Wii Sports Resort.
Any help is appreciated.

use rev14 for disc loading, rev15 for USB loading.

IOS are only important for original games. You are loading via USB, so only cIOS matters.

like i said up there, only cIOS matters. Your system menu is irrelevant. Hermes cIOS 222 and 223 are other cIOS that should be side by side with waninkoko's cIOS. Install all the latest cIOS and try again.
Wii Sports Resort needs the alt dol option to load up for the first time.

Okay. I found a USB Loader GX .zip with Hermes 222 included, and rev14 (NOT 15).

You say specifically, that 15 is for USB. So why was 14 included. Should I install it, or find 15? This was in the offical .zip, I'm pretty sure.

EDIT:

I installed Hermes 222/223. And cIOS rev 15. Now I just get black screens on all games with USB Loader GX, Cover Floader, etc.
At least it doesn't crash back to the system menu.

I now know how to run backup games through a usb loader. I'm wondering if this guide will prepare the wii to be able to play newer games like NSMB Wii.

Make sure you're checking in System Titles. From the guide:

hi,
please help me, i know this is my second question but im getting desperate as the wii is a christmas present for my little brother.
i updated the wii to 4.2 through the wii update, followed the guide to the letter,but when i get to the step chooses ios 15 then choose ios 36menu. 9 times out of 10 i get a code dump!
and on the one time it does work when i get to the delete stub ios part i have no ios 249?
so on the next step i cant install cios 249 v14.wad.
please help me

When it opens choose IOS36. (it is probably already set to that)"

It won't let me pick 36, the highest the WADs goto is 35.

No. The IOS 249 stub is just an IOS Nintendo created to try to block Homebrew apps from using it. Did you install the cIOS files with no problems?

Most shops here in Greece sell some Wiis this season at the price of only Euro 150 and I understand that this price applies to old stock.

However is there any way to understand from the box whether the Wii that I intend to purchase has the new D3-2 chipset?

I would appreciate your help.

Dont worry about the code dumps, just keep retrying until it finally works. Also dont worry about about the fact that u cant find IOS249 in anytitledeleter, just press + or - on the wiimote to check the other pages to make sure its not there, it doesnt matter if it isnt, none of the stub IOS's were there for me. As for cios249 not installing thatll mean u didnt trucha bug IOS36 successfully, so keep trying to until u get past the code dumps and while its installing make sure that after its finished it says it installed successfully. Hope it helps

Not too sure if thisll work but your system menu may be trying to load under the wrong IOS. Go into priiloaders settings and make sure that the system menu is set to load with IOS70, save the settings and try to load system menu again. Thats the best i can think of. Hope it helps

i just got a bit worried when it was going as explained in the guide.

I updated my softmodded 3.2u to 4.2 with this update and now i'm trying to install some wads but the wad manager keeps freezing up during installation. Can someone help me out with this?

My old wad managers freeze up as well so i'm using the wad manager 1.5 provided with this guide. I select IOS249 which freezes during installation. Should I choose a different IOS and if so which one?

Kinda would rather be back on 3.2
