Hacking USB Loader GX

Hello

I installed th USB Loader GX with Windows installer on my SD and create the channel with official forwarder. I can play games without problem.
but when ever I want to change sorting style with the button on top or change something on settings Wii Crashes and turn backs to WII menu.

I format the SD and re-installed again but did not help Any idea ?

Secondly I downloaded a theme and put in to wtheme forlder on SD root but how do switch to this them on Loader ? Settings ? or where ?

Can you make a dol of rev715 that don't lock the homebrew channel in parental mode?

I don't know how to put up a dol, but if you know how to compile one I can tell you what to change. Under source/menu.ccp go down to line 662 and just remove the if (Settings.godmode) line. Than just compile as normal and the hbc will not be locked ever again. I hope this helps. I will try to post a download for all my changes in a dol file. I hope this helps.

ocarina is broke in 715 its a common bug that hasnt been fixed yet

UPDATE: After deleting all the cfg files like you said I tried again loading the dol from disc. I changed "Alternate DOL" to "DOL from disc" then click "DOL from disc" and I get this message after selecting the dol from the disc. This is EXACTLY what it says.

It seems that you have some information that will we helpfull to us. Please pass this information along to the DEV team. R3ME01- 780

Maybe that means something to the GX developers. I am using the newest GX (715) with Cios 249 rev 14.

UPDATE 2: After getting this error message to pass on to the DEV team I went on and continued to load Metroid the game loaded fine!

UPDATE3: When loading Metroid 1 (rs5mp1_p.dol) it loads fine. When loading Metroid 2 (re5mp2_p.dol) I just get a black screen. When loading Metroid 3 (rs5mp3_p.dol) I get a message to insert a disc. And with all of these when I change the dol file I want to use on the disc I get the error message I posted.

UPDATE4: I tried all the game dol files from sd again one by one. I renamed them R3ME01.dol and loaded each one one at a time on my sd. I got the same results as running the dol from the disc. I did get metroid 2 to work with Neogamma using this method but still a black screen with GX.

The message you are getting is NOT an error message. It is simply telling you to report dol name and line number to the devs so that in future revisions they can set up the AUTOSELECT for that particular game.

Again, I have no problems loading all altdols for MPT with the exception of inserting a blank DVD when loading Metroid Prime 3. Make sure you are clicking the save button each time you edit the game's settings.

Considering r715 was released a week before MPT came out, I doubt there are any specific fixes for that game. I don't even notice a difference between my gamecube version with progressive scan on and the wii version as is. Maybe it's luck of the draw...for instance, when i started my game in MP1 via altdol, the difficulty setting was automatically set on veteran. This can be viewed by loading the main menu dol and looking at your save file. Maybe a few people can do this and post what difficulty they were started at so we know whether it is random or forced.

Silly update question:

I have an older version of USB Loader GX installed on my 4.0 Wii (FYI I'm not sure what version, but I'm not at home to check right now). This version apparently does not have an update option in Settings. What is the easiest way to update/upgrade to the most recent version?? Also if I have to overwrite my old version will it keep my old settings and box art etc.?

if you have internet click options than scroll to the right and choose update. it will keep all your covers etc. no internet than download the latest and replace the dols etc on your sd card.

Well....according to this guy his game loaded at "Normal" difficulty...

For people to get snippy and frustrated over playing this game is absolutely ridiculous. You all should be happy it's playable at all. I can't wait to hear all the crying when every new game starts needing new hacks and boot methods...

I've given up on this forum...
If it's not noobs posting the same questions over and over without searching first, it's "know-it-all" newcomers talking to me like I'm a tard or something who has no idea what's going on. I now fully understand why the coders don't come in here anymore. People don't know or appreciate what's being done for them (in whatever free time the team has between jobs, kids, life...), they only want and expect more.
I'll still be updating the server and my files with each new release, but don't expect any more input or help anywhere other than the GX IRC channel. but you said you have it installed, so you have the full channel version (that doesn't need SD card)?

So just replace the old dol with the new dol and do everything else as usual?

I don't have the latest version installed. I believe I have a very early version without channels.

Because, after clearing out my images and trying to snag all from WiiTDB, too many are missing or corrupt or sized inappropriately. Since I have FTP access to WiiBoxart, I can fix problems there immediately. Since I don't have access to WiiTDB, I have to spend time helping update their database via submissions. I will spend some time going through the files I noticed as having problems on WiiTDB and sending in solutions, but for now some people may like to have the option to use WiiBoxart if it better meets their needs.

In time, I hope WiiTDB will overtake WiiBoxart, as I much prefer the design direction and organization there. During the interim, choice is a good thing. That's the idea behind diversity and competition, helping push for the best product possible. I hope I can lend a hand anywhere it is needed.

If anyone has any questions or thoughts in general, don't hesitate to PM me.
