So a2 00 e6 points to silence. I used sinbatsu's file as a base, so there is a silence instead of people repeating themselves in this version. I couldn't find the repeat pointer at 15A0 though... so i might of missed one, or sinbatsu did..

I can verify it works on the Japanese Rom too, so if you use AshenPhoenix's method you can get english+sync+battle voices..

edit: i swear to god i'm not trying to snipe the top of these pages
tongue.gif

edit: updated, i missed a few - should be the exact same as sinbatsu's repeating version, only with silences..

can't thank you enough sinbatsu..

I see MegaUpload is practicing in making their Captchas even MORE unreadable by humans! Haha, yes, I realize the battle voices are missing from the E version, silly. The question was what made this difference. I don't recall too much in-depth examination of this aspect in the audio when skimming the thread. The only file discrepancies I noticed between versions was the extemporaneous language files, but I'm sure it's more than a cosmetic difference, of course.

You know what would be hilarious, but that we wouldn't put past them? If the company releasing the game had recorded English battle voices and then bungled some coding up so that nobody could ever hear them.

Possibly /gg

If we use eu version as a base then we get no battle voice. But if we use the jp version instead, we get a stand alone weird big helluva font for exclusively the MC's name + japanese title screen XD

Yo yo yo werd up dawg for shizzle it's MC Hero. MC MC HXC MC.
Just "Hero" is fine.

Um...no offense, but I'm not sure you've said anything new, even though it's worded in a different way. All it seems to indicate is what we already know--that the J version has battle voices and the E version doesn't, which I already had in my roster of information from this thread. Does anybody have any new info?

Someone can explain me how I can create the undubbed version by using the Japonese version as a base ? On page 1, there's just the how-to for creating the undubbed version by using the European version (but in this case we don't have any battle voices). I also wanna know which problems occur with this method (except for the Japonese title screen).

Hello everyone^^ I've been following this topic for a while and I want to thank everyone who's working after a working patch to undub the game.
Still due to my lack of experience in these matters I was unable to apply it. If someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would be very grateful^^.
I'll go ahead and tell you exactly how I proceeded:

- Downloaded the ds_data_hed.sdat from the link in the first page.
- Unpacked the .nds file with dslazy.
- Substitute the file with the one i downloaded.
- Packed again into a .nds with dslazy.

What I got from this procedure was a game with no voices at all during dialogues.

As I finish to write this post I'll try once again

I'm sorry to bother you but I really love this game^^ I also apologize for my bad english.

I'm playing with English text in the Jap version and will be in Magedom soon, haven't had any problem so far. (Had to start over when I switched to the Jap version

) Battle voices, script voices and english text works so far.

If anyone else is thinking of trying it you may want to play with this font:

http://www.mediafire.com/?zdddmzd44tj

You'll know why if you try it without it.

And this is how I did it, maybe some unnecesary steps but since it has worked so far I've not tried changing it.

1. Unpack Eu and Jap version.

2. From the EU versions Data\Rom\ folder move over starname.bin, town_thumbnail.bin, wad.bin, misc.bin, slide.bin, face.bin, eye.bin, areatext_*your choice*.bin

3. From EU versions Data\Rom\Text\ move over gd_textres_*your choice*.txrc As well as the 01, 02, 03 files of the same language, and change the language extension to jpn. Ex. gd_textres_jpn.txrc.

4. From EU versions Data\Rom\Scenario\ move over sce_bustup.bin and sce_sbin_*your choice*.bin and rename the last one to sce_sbin_jpn.bin.

That's how I've done it, I expect most of the files in the first step are no different from the jap version and may be left out but since I haven't had any trouble so far I've not gone back to try without some of the files.

I would guess that you might be fine with only areatext_*.bin, gd_textres_*.bin, sce_bustup.bin and sce_sbin_*.bin.

This way everything is in english except the title screen so far (and voices of course
tongue.gif
). Good luck.

@s2d4: Download the font I linked to there, it will give the hero the same font as the rest of the text.

@GreenBanana: Not sure why your picking on s2d4. MC = Main Character, and he's just pointing to the fact that without a modified font the "Hero"s name is in a different font then the rest of the text in the game.

@Lee On: Did you move over the jap sound files to the Eu version, or alternatively followed the instructions in the quote above? The modified data_hed file is to fix an issue with desyncing when following one of these two methods.

I found a possible solution for my problem in the previous page, I try it now ^^.
Thanks to all people who works on it ^^.

You have to include sounds from the japonese version too. That is what I understand :
On the previous page, someon explain how to create an undubbed version by using the Japonese version as a base. You can just follow this how-to. After that, you replace the ds_data_hed.sdat by the one you have downloaded here. You can also change the font by using the file given in this topic (but it's not necessary).

I tried to do that but I guess that I forgot at least one file because it shows me 'no data' as subtitles for the first movie (but the text is correct for the loading menu even if I have no save to load lol
tongue.gif
). I will try again now ^^.

I tried making the undubbed rom with japanese rom as the base, but after I added the ds_data_hed.sdat into it, it ended up crashing on battles after a messed up sound plays.

Any idea on how to fix that?

Umm...I have a problem when I add:
QUOTE said:
-My New Font
-Data\Rom\scenario\sce_sbin_jpn.bin
-Data\rom\text\gd_textres0*_jpn.txrc
-Data\rom\areatxt.bin

When I repack my rom, at the start, the subtitles in the video are NO DATA everytime
