Anyone using it, I have a question, do we need M3 real or just this then we can access to M3 DS REAL GBA Expansion Pack for GBA games...

You need a slot 2 card or an expansion pack in the slot 2 to play GBA games. There is not really an alternative.

This is the name, it's not seperate.
I have M3 Simply, and I planning to buy "M3 DS REAL GBA Expansion Pack"
I wanted to know, can it play GBA Games, is it have RTC, and can I just play with just "M3 DS REAL GBA Expansion Pack" in slot 2...

The Expansion pack requires a slot 1 card which can only be the M3 Real if you want RTS and the other features. If you do not have an M3 Real, you'll have to use GBAEXP Loader, and that doesn't have the extra features. I do not think the GBA Expansion has NOR memory, so it empties itself(the save is backed up on your Slot one) and you need to write another game to it again. The way the Expansion pack works is that all of the games are stored on the slot on memory card.

Or did you mean you were going to buy the BUNDLE which means you are getting an M3 Real+GBA Expansion? In that case, then yes, you will have most of the features like cheats and Real Time save... Not sure about RTC... You might have to patch it.

the m3 real gba expansion does have rtc, no need to patch (the roms).

it has both real time clock and real time save (only with a m3 ds real slot-1 cart) other slot-2 carts dont have that

I loaded up pokemon emerald (restored save file due to old one was deleted)
checked the time and it was 1 hour behind, mins matched though

it only has native support with M3 Real
any other cart you must use GBA ExpLoader

Actually, there are 3 kinds of slot-2 expansion pack for M3Real

1) Rumble Pack
2) Rumble Ram Pack
3) GBA Expansion Pack

The one has RTC is GBA Expansion Pack, I think the one that PharaohsVizier got is Rumble Ram Pack

RTC on the GBA take 1000. It was used in a handful of games (pokemon and boktai most notably) which can generally be patched ( http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch and see gbata) so the clock works in the game (and only when the game is being played).
In the case of pokemon (which is about all that people see to care about although boktai is not bad either) the game days (some pokemon are more common/only available at night/during the day) are about 8 hours long but berries grow in a day (real time) making that aspect not quite as nice.
Those patches should work on any cart that supports the game.

Re: "unique" instant save, unique among the new line of expansion packs perhaps but not to GBA carts.

Does the m3 GBA expansion pack similar to the ez flash 3 in 1 expansion pack in that it has:
- 256 Mb (32 MB) of NOR Flash Memory

- 128 Mb (16 MB) of PSRAM

- 4 Mb (512 KB) of battery backed SRAM for save data?

the reason i'm wondering is because the ez flash 3 in 1 lacks a real time clock, which is its major flaw. I want a gba expansion pack that has all the gba expansion capabilities that the ez flash 3 in 1 has but with the inclusion of the rtc.

I'm thinking about buying the m3 gba expansion pack but idk if it works the same as the ez flash 3 in 1 can anybody comment on this?
