If anyone has had experience with swapping out a disc drive on a slim, is there a way to do it without the drive programming tools ive seen in videos? I was given a star wars edition console with a completely missing disc drive so I dont have the option of swapping out the board on it. I have a donor drive, and I suppose if it comes down to it I can just throw it in there to fill the hole if it will be too much trouble. I honestly dont use the drives much anymore, but if its not something I have to get flashing hardware for it might be worth doing.
My second question is related to the drive. Does anyone have any good sources to get the case components from aside from amazon/ebay? I was trying to find the star wars edition disc tray cover, but I havent had any luck so far. I have a spare black one, and also a MW3 edition one that I could attempt painting, but I was curious if there were any other places I dont know about.
