Hello.
I recently got a used US Xbox 360 that can play burned DVDs. I don´t know what method was used, but looks like the dvd drive was flashed because the old owner told me that he needed to redoing the method once a while.

I don´t care to play pirate games, but I would like to play original japanese games. Is there a way to achive this without messing around about JTAG and RGH?

I read that I can burn a disc setting the region, but I just wanted to play original ones.

Some games are region free, you can play those without doing anything. You'll have to look up info on the specific game though, there are various guides around like https://www.play-asia.com/info/xbox360_compatibility_guide telling you region info.

If the title you want is locked to NTSC-J only, then the only way to play it on a US system is RGH/Jtag. No other way.

Thanks! The game that I wanted to play is japanese only.

I would like to RGH that Xbox, but its kind a mess to make it. If I had the NAND-X, would be easy, but at least here in my country, this device cost around US$ 100.00 + shipping. So, I don´t think that this is a good deal, at least for now.

Thanks again for the info.

Just a small update, and maybe I need a confirmation to just give up. I read that I could use a Raspberry pi to read the nand, so i gave it a try.

Long story short, I was thinking that I have a Jasper board, but I have a Zephyr one.

I did all steps like a Jasper board. Diode, resistor and Jrunner with a Raspberry pi > Read Nand. As you can see, the sad news for me, I can not use RGH3.

So, what are my options? ModChip? Maybe just give up?
