Brand new Switch V2 - Blue Screen after Thermal Paste Removal

Hi people,

I just got a brand new Switch V2 and wanted to install a modchip. I disassembled it and gently removed the thermal paste from all parts (including APU) with 100% alcohol.

Before installing the modchip I wanted to test the functionality again and unfortunately I had to realize that only a blue screen is displayed. Under the microscope, I can't see any damage caused by the cleaning.

Could you help me with this?

Check to see if you got thermal paste on to components on the board, see if you damaged any components also.

Can't see any thermal paste anywhere and all components I checked so far doesn't seem to be damaged.

Care to share pictures, it's helpful to have more eyes on the opened console than just yours.

Just checking, keep it handy but we're not quite there yet. Reseat all connection you're gonna need to repaste too. Close up your Switch, dock your Switch, and see if it displays on the TV.

Put everything together. Repaste done. The Switch is turning blue again when docking and nothing displays on the TV.

did you at least searched on the forum? you damage or incorrect seated the screen ribbon, remove it, look for bent pins and reseat the ribbon cable. there is a thread dedicated to that issue. and referred several times on chips installation ones.

No easy way to replace such BGA chip close to CPU, you gonna need professional

Did it break when removing the cpu shield? Just trying to understand how fragile those components are. I broke one lcd connector when re siting the ribbon cable, so sh*t happens.
