Capcom is finally localizing Ace Attorney Investigations 2 as part of the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection

After 13 years, Capcom is going to officially translate and release Ace Attorney Investigations 2. Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor’s Gambit will be coming west later this year, as part of the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. It'll feature brand new HD art, and remixed music, with the option to toggle between the original music and graphics. It'll be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for PC on September 6, 2024.

"Gyakuten Kenji 2" was already translated in English so much time ago... this collection makes that translation patch obsolete now.

I wouldnt go that far.

Still annoying that even though I have a flash cart, nobody wants to localize the ace attorney gba games; in large part because ive had so many ds systems that broke or failed in some way, while my gba is still running strong.

More ways to play is rarely ever a bad thing.

Curious question: How would the official translation compare with the existing fan translation from Auryn's?

I beat AAI2 in my DS lite in 2015, and I'm very fond of the names from the fan translation (with Debeste being 'the best' name lol). Not sure if I like the new name for example (Eustass Winner, I believe), and so on for the others.

What do you guys think? Would the official localization be widely accepted by the community? Or would people revert to the older fan one, just like they did with Cave Story (that most people prefer the Aeon Genesis translation, rather than the Nicalis one)?

I have Miles Edge 2 on my DS and also on Delta on my iPhone. Haven't played it yet but gonna try to play it before this game comes out so I can experience both versions.

I think the official translation will end up growing on people, or at worst the influx of new/casual players (who have never played the fan translation) will overtake the existing fan translation players online.

Welp, just as I was about to end this series by playing the last game released for it, The Great Ace Attorney 2 (not counting the remastermakesports or whatever).
I find AAI2 to be one of the best games in this series, props to all the translators that poured sweat and blood into translating the game, guess won't maybe play this collection, until maybe in a few years, but I can check what will be changed from fan to official translation.
I'mma guess prolly for the worse and perhaps censorship galore, but will see, lol.

If TGAA is anything to go by, the fan translation will still be better.

But do give it a shot anyway

Yeah, no. The fantranslation for GAA is not better than the official one 💀
For instance, why wouldn't you translate *puns* on a game full of puns to the point it's almost a big part of the series' identity?

It's only the 3rd game but at least it's something?
