So i upgraded from CrazyMac's 2.0 release. Did all the steps. However, all my thumbnails (consoles and games) have disappeared. Upon inspecting the sd card contents, i noticed the 'media' folder has disappeared and in its place is assets. I renamed it back to media (as originally found in the crazymac download) and turned on my wiiu and no thumbnails. Took out the SD card to check and it changed back to assets. What am i missing here?
this happened to me, did you ever find a solution? im thinking of just going back to 1,7,7 at this point
the contents of my media folder have ended up inside the assets folder i think this is why its not picking up the images on main dashboard in retroarch its also created empty folders (auto config, database, screenshots and thumbnails)
not sure whats happened, all i did was move the new cores over and playlist then made sure old format was (off) in the playlist settings in retroarch then saved configuration.
if anyone could shed some light on where ive gone wrong it be much appreciated!

Some of the Diretories have recently been adjusted to fix a long standing bug with folder creation, Crazymacs build is based off an older Retroarch, all you should need to do is move the Crazymac folders to their new Directories.?
These are the correct folders Retroarch looks to:
(Ignore the older cores folder)

@michalt ok looks like CD32 works, it just takes ages for the rom to load
I tried a small CD32 game.. James Pond 3, it initially boots to a blackscreen but after a while it shows the CD32 bios,
then if I press a button on the gamepad the screen changes to a key going into a lock? but from there it just loops back to the bios screen again lol
I'm not familiar with CD32 at all so I don't know if that's correct or what.
EDIT: apologies michalt, I just read your issue on github, I can atleast confirm I'm having the same issue as you
Thanks, its the only way bugs like that get seen by the right people
yes, Sega CD works really well on WiiU, 32X does too

I saw it too, keeping my eyes on it

do i move config contents into auto config? ive noticed the overlay of games are still showing just not the dashboard images or thumbnails, ive left the overlay folder where it is on the root of SD as seems to be working.
in the assets folder it has a wallpaper folder with contents do i move this into the newly created folder called screenshots?

No, Your Config contents should be in a folder called Config in the retroarch folder.. Auto Config is for Controller stuff iirc.
Your Thumbnails contents should be in a folder called Thumbnail in the retroarch folder
Your Assets contents should be in a folder called Assets in the retroach folder

Your Config folder looks fine to me (you did post the config pic twice tho The Thumbnail folder pic you posted is another Config pic..
The Assets pic looks good too
You can leave the screenshot/overlay folders they are alright.
Theres no need to move the rdb folder to the Assets folder, they should stay in the Database folder

Cool I can see the Thumbnail folder now.. looks good too. You should now see your thumbnails? Same goes for the assets. they should now be correct in the UI?
I've never had to move the rdb folder.. This is my database/rdb folder: View attachment 350467
ive decided to put the old version back on and will start again with a fresh approach
is this right:
1. turn old format off in playlist via wii u menu
2. save configuration then reinsert SD into laptop
3. delete the old cores and then add the new ones via laptop
4. delete the old playlist and add the new ones via laptop
5. reinsert SD into Wii U and boot retroarch so that the new folders are created (thumbnails, database etc) then reinsert into laptop again
6. move the contents of my thumbnail folder into the newly created thumbnail folder
7. leave overly and screenshot folder alone and config folder too
8 database>rbd folder is empty so do i go into assets folder under rbd and move the contents inside into this new database>rbd folder?

That's sounds right to me.. except you dont need to move any rdb folder to anywhere, you can download rdb folder from the Retroarch Online Updater. "Update Controller Profiles" and "Update Databases"

That has happened to me too when loading from Playlist/History never caused an issue so didn't worry about it.

I don't have any wallpapers I guess you could put them in SD:/Retroarc/Assets/Wallpaper then set the path manually in Settings>Directory?
(Change the Dynamic Backgrounds path setting to SD:/Retroarch/Assets/Wallpaper)
Then save Retroarch.cfg (Main Menu>Configuration File>Save Current Configuration)
Restart Retroarch and check if it worked.

Hi everyone.
I have a weird input behavior on some cores, for instance in mGBA (but not in FB Alpha).
even with "all users control menu", I can only *open* the menu and cannot move inside it, for instance with a classic gamepad or Gamecube controller, *even* if these are player 1. Sometimes my GC controller can control the menu though (even if it's not player 1).
only the Wii U Gamepad as player 1 can control the game. If anything else is player 1, it cannot control the game
It's so bad that if my GC controller can't control the menu, I can't even quit retroarch or do anything and I have to shutdown the Wii U manually.
Anyone else is having this and found a solution ?
I use the latest nightly but frankly, this has been going on for as long as I can remember...
On the other hand FB Alpha and Mame work perfectly relating to controls.

Hello. I'm using a Switch Pro Ccntroller connected through Bloopair and that can control the RA ui fine.
I haven't tried with a GC controller.
A couple things you can try..
Have you tried setting up a Menu Toggle? (this probably wont fix your issue but its good to do anyway)
Goto Settings
Goto Input
Goto Hotkeys
Then set Menu Toggle (Controller Combo) to something (if your using a GC controller I guess the Hold Start for 2 secs would work well)
Then save your Retroarch.cfg (Main Menu>Configuration File>Save Current Configuration)
Have you tried setting the Controller you want to use to player 1 once your ingame?
Once ingame open the Menu.
Goto Controls
Goto Port 2 Controls
Set Mapped Port to = 1
Then go back to game and see if your Controller will now control the game
The reason your having the issue is because the WiiU Gamepad always take priority over other Controllers.
Another dirty way of fixing it is to turn off the WiiU Gamepad before opening Retroarch.. easy way to do that is to take the WiiU Gamepad out of range of the Console then then off the WiiU Gamepad lol
