Depends on who wants to and will do it. So far we seen undertale will be official release on ps4 and psvita. I suppose the dev has interest in making it available for consoles. If and what console will it be on next is not known but it won't be on wii officially.

So far I played the game, and the story is the only interesting part of the game. Other than that, I enjoy the music, but actually playing the game wasn't any interest to me. Yes I admit unique concept of rpg with fighting enemies using a common timed attack system then dodging hits like trying to play Ikaruga with no shield to absorb damage, but Ikaruga is not a easy game, you would have to be really good at reflexes to win and lose a lot cause is a trial and error process, not to mention the rules change when they do "Blue attack" and "Yellow attack" and "Green attack" trying to remember attacks are now color coded. Dodge this hit, don't move through this color, block this color, shoot that color. No I'm not complaining cause is challenge but cause is bend the rules too often.

Trying to get the so called genocide story ending, wow. When the goal is to kill all enemies and random encounters don't happen often enough, you spend least 5 minutes waiting for someone to show up, meanwhile any other ending like pacifist, you get random encounters when you don't want it, not very good balance.

Well I guess I wasn't supposed to review the game just answer a question. Ever since the game was released, people been demanding a console port, and it seems now is coming for ps4 and vita. Honestly it would be nice to also have ps3 and psp, i mean even retro city rampage has PSP port, 4 systems 1 price, nicely done, respectable dev. Too bad there was no WII U port or xbox one port for the DX edition. Maybe when the sequel comes out a port bundle will be included. :)

Hopefully, and thank you, I did know that Undertale was coming to PS4 and PS Vita... I was asking if there was a "port" of some sort as in a homebrew port... Thank you for taking your time to reply.

Crazy i was just thinking about that the other day.
Glad i'm not the only one wanting it to happen.
That would be cool, the Wii has a ton of cool ports, Duke Nukem, Grim Fandango and etc, so Undertale would be GREAT.
The Wii is more than capable. I heard that Toby Fox is "unable to port it to Nintendo platforms without reprogramming the game due to the engine's lack of support for the platforms." but i think he said that about the Wii U and Switch, i think it would be fairly easier to do on the original Wii.

Well i'm no computer genius, but count me in for wanting that to happen, for sure !
We just lost Youtube support on the Wii yesterday, so that was a massive L. We need them W's right now.

Still a no. Undertale was created in Game Maker which doesn't have Wii support.

But maybe someone can make it another engine or anything like that, and still could make an exact copy of the original game into a homebrew app. you cant block that out of the way.

But that would be a remake, not a port.
Making an exact clone of a game is difficult although still a possibility.
But for Wii? That system's so old and no one cares about it anymore, I doubt that would happen, it would be more likely to get a Switch version.
Edit: Oh did you mean as a homebrew project? That's even less likely to happen, since we don't have the source code.

There are mainly 2 ways to port undertale to a wii, one: mod the fanmade mobile port to have wiimote support, and since apks use java for alot of stuff, you can extract/decompile the apk as java source code running the gml script and compile the java for wii
Two: find a properly decompiled version of undertale, there are loads on githubs and saved to the wayback machine, use some custom tools that allows wiimote support (they exist) and pay for the YYC to compile gml to C++ and then it can be compiled properly to wii

Sure, but keep in mind you're responding to a thread from 2017, long before decompilations were a viable means to get games running on systems they were never built for.

Having said that, I really hope Undertale does get decomped and ported to the Wii U or even Wii, just so the one guy in this thread can eat his own hat. Reminds me of the guy that gave me shit in a thread where someone asked if Sonic Mania could ever be ported to the Wii U and I said it feasibly could if it were ever decompiled. He went on a rant on how stupid I was for even mentioning such a thought; smashcut to today lol.

Useless code because ...

and...

Now go and pay for it to be done.
Nah I ain't paying for a potentially botched port, no one has wiimote support in undertale yet even tho its plugins have been made, plus aspect ratio for screen and other factors, probably better off using the homebrew UT mobile port which uses java or kotlin to run the gamemaker language instead of transpiling it to C++ so the Wii could stand a change running it, also heard of emulators for slightly older versions of android so there's that too

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
