Can someone explain to me how to extract xci file to romfs? I want to edit some files. And also how to revert them back?

Extracting is selfexplaining, very easy, so makes no sense to spend any time in explaining, just read and use the app.
Building NSP is not easy at all (and no part of NSCB), just learning by doing over months like others.

Hey guys, hope this thread isn't dead yet lol, I've been experimenting with compressing multiple NSPs to NSZs in parallel compression to help save space on my backups, however, I've noticed that sometimes, the console would strangely clear itself and be completely unresponsive, leaving a blue screen. I've tried pressing space etc and nothing worked, and in the task manager the CPU usage decreased to 12 percent while the RAM usage also fallen, and I can safely assume something has crashed or the compression has at least stopped. My settings for compression were level 22, 3 to 4 instances, and the issue only came up after using it for about a week. My specs are 16GB of ram and a i7-3770, and during compression only 60% of RAM would be used combined with my background tasks and CPU is also around 60%.
Not sure if this is a common issue but I've spent hours googling and sifting through forums without seeing this popup, so I would appreciate if someone can share a solution or diagnose the issue, since this project is really great for saving me disk space, thanks!

I'm getting some strange errors in the latest releases. The last working release I was able to use was release 0.78b. But now I'm not getting some games converted in this old release, even updating master keys. So the error is the following: I open NSB 0.87c x64, double click in NSCB.bat, it asks me which choice I want, I'm inserting "1" and in the next screen, it keeps moving, as if I'm keep a button pressed.

Can anyone help me find what can I do to solve this?

Hi @JRoad, after almost 3 years (using NSCB for this time without problems) I return with the same issue. Now I know its related to python installed in my computer. Tried to uninstall, reinstall, install different versions, x86, x64, nothing looks like to do the trick. I know that I solved this problem before, but now I cant remember what I did that solve, and nothing is working. Have you seen this problem and know how to solve this?

I am wondering because some games updates are requesting firm 14 already and i dont want to update yet. Could those be patcheable with this?

If I want to erase deltas from a new NSP I get this: File "list.txt" cannot be found.
Strange. Still work for other NSPs, why not here ???

You can use a key generation lesser than your firmware, this should work, no need to have the exact same key generation ffor the firmware.

In the script you select to patch the file(s) with a key generation and you choose to patch with the key for firmware 10.X for example, if you want you can even patch with the key for firmware 1.0.0. The only problem is the SDK but if the SDK in the content match with the SDK of the firmware no problem to patch with a key generation lesser than your firmware.

You have nothing to loose, try. If you have an error when launching the game you will need to update your firmware.

Try installing python version 3.7 and make sure your key files are up to date.

Use python 3.7, also make sure you aren't using any weird characters in your filenames names or file path - for example you get errors when you have single quotes in the filename - example: Richy's-Nightmares.nsp

I was aware of the weird character problem.
Sadly python 3.7 doesn't change anything, still this strange message.

Did you set up environmental variables properly once you installed python?

In windows search bar type "environment" then click on Edit environment for your account. In system variables box click on path and add the path where you have python installed: example:

C:\python3.9\Scripts\
C:\python3.9\

Once done - restart windows.

Not sure what you mean. Working for years with NSCB, never had problems.
