Hello everybody,

I'm a bit confused, I want to launch Advance War Dual Strike on my DS lite with TWL++ (launched by a linker, other games work fine). The game launches but when I get to the main menu, I get a black screen.
I don't think the Rom is bad because it works like a charm on my DSi.

I'm a little bit lost... Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Things That I Have Tried:

Turn on/off NDSbootstrap

Turning off update recently played List

Reinstalling Twilight Menu with the last version

Formatting SD Card to FAT 32 32 Kbs MBR

Compatibility on flashcards isn't the best.
Please turn off nds-bootstrap in TWLMenu++ Settings to ensure higher compatibility with games.

Great, I'll try that later. Thank you so much for your response and your amazing work!

Maybe I'll say something stupid, but what does it the other way to boot TWL++ on a DS Lite without using a Linker ?

TWiLight Menu++ likely does not support loading games from your cart's main kernel.

Which cart is this, anyway? Why use TWiLight Menu++ over the pre-existing loader?

A Gateway Blue.
I prefer TW++ as it is installed on my DSi XL and I want to be able to use my saves on both consoles.

A Gateway Blue.
When turning nds-bootstrap off, this tells TWiLight Menu++ to use the original kernel, if it is supported.

This is unfortunately not the case for Gateway Blue carts. The only option you have to run with best compatibility is to use the original Wood kernel as opposed to using TWiLight Menu++ with it, since as mentioned before nds-bootstrap does not run very well flashcart-only.

I prefer TW++ as it is installed on my DSi XL and I want to be able to use my saves on both consoles.
I'm a little confused. The saves are intercompatible, the only difference is that they are in slightly different locations. Or is that what you mean? (also, can't you use the Gateway Blue on both consoles?)

Hi, thanks for the information.

I have installed TWL++ on my DSi with the camera application exploit and I use the linker on my DS Lite. Since I have TWL++ on both my consoles, I can transfer my saves whenever I want and resume my progress. That's the idea.

Go into TWiLight Menu++ settings on the DSi (not the flashcart!)
Turn on the following options:
  • SD access in Slot-1
  • SCFG access in Slot-1
  • Auto-start Slot-1
Now when launching TWiLight Menu++, it will instead boot the flashcart, with full access to DSi hardware (SD card, DSi clock speed), which means compatibility will be nearly equal to regular nds-bootstrap. If you launch the flashcart in any other way then it will launch in the limited DS mode where nds-bootstrap painfully sucks in.

Hey!
Thanks a lot for the tip, but I have no problem with the TWL++ on the DSi (which boots from the SD card internally and not from the linker). And even with your explanation, Advance Wars Duak Strike works fine on the DSi with TWL++ from the linker or from the DSi's internal SD.

The problem comes from my DS Lite with TWL++ on the linker, hence my questions.

Yeah, on the DS Lite you don't really have another option.
