Some wires can be connected without doing this kind of crap. It's not rocket science.
Gl connecting wires to the CPU directly

And on the lite directly to the nand

Also they go 3X MSRP and are new

Although interested where someone is finding used chips and selling them lmao

How do we learn how to solder? le search engines are filled to the brim with nothing but political shitposts and other irrelevant hitpieces.

start with old bits of computer board and old wires, there are some good youtube videos.
but this is micro-soldering, better off paying an installer
I wouldnt trust some shady installer to solder my BDSP lite and not just steal it.
Its more of a common sense thing.

Nah, I'm just new to the switch homebrew scene. See a lot of parallels to the 3DS though its very different hardware where everyone says you need a special hacker flashcart/modchip and nitrohax and so on. Eventually it was hacked.

Is there a way to get a Switch modchip without buying from sketchy stores that won't deliver or deliver a faulty one, and install it W/O soldering, not W/?

I've recently seen an influx of people getting a modchip and successfully installing it, so is there an easier way to do it now?
Imagine asking a question and then being cross because you didn't like the answer.

Why are you rude? There has to be a way to do it a lot easier, it just hasn't been discovered yet because all of the modding community is focused on UNpatched switches that are twice the normal MSRP just because they were in the first few batches.
There isn't. People have made solderless modchips for other consoles using pogo pins or clips in the past, it's not possible on the Switch because there's not much room and the pads/pins you need to connect to are too complicated for that to work reliably.

I'm not paying twice the MSRP for an already used Switch that might already be banned.
Ok look I'm sorry you've not been getting helpful answers from other people, but don't worry I'm here to solve your problem.
You don't want to buy a Switch that can be hacked without a modchip, and you don't want to use the one method that works to install a modchip, so the perfect personalised answer just for you is to: not have a hacked Switch.
Enjoy!

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
