Is it possible to stretch the video output to fill the entire Switch screen without black bars?

I'm one of the weird guys who prefer stretched graphics over black bars. It was the reason I didn't want to keep using the standalone melonDS last time I tried it a few months back.

Been playing this too, plays beautifully and iv made it to the cobble kingdom. It's great we can play and beat full games on MelonDS
Are you playing it with the dpad mod? (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/786/)

It's the only way to play it

Use the Widescreen codes I posted on the last page and you can play full screen

Just a quick question. I was updating from an old version and am wondering if you still need romlist.bin and micsample.wav in the directory? Games are working without the bin file, but I haven't been able to test the mic yet. Thanks.

they're both embeded in melonds.nro for a while now. So yes, they're not necessary anymore.

Is there a way for us to try this new build?

The github page currently has r5 fix 1 as the most recent release.
Join RetroNX discord, on emulation-general channel you can find the latest melonds r6 pre 3 download.
I dont know if I can post the direct link, ask catlover007 if we can share his builds.

Thank you!

I'm actually on the RetroNX discord, but I didn't know that melonDS was being talked there. I visit the channel occasionally to see m4xw's progress on various libretro cores.

Although Golden Sun Dark Dawn is slow at title screen.
Golden Sun does some pretty weird stuff, there's unfortunately not that much which can be done about it.

thank you, I appreciate that no one just uploaded one of my test builds here.

To clarify the current situation. Release 6 is almost done, but since both the 2d and 3d renderers are completely new there are quite a lot of bugs to iron out, so I put test builds up on the RetroNX discord server.

Now all of the DS's gpu work is put onto the Switch's gpu which was previously mostly just idling, which helps greatly for the performance. As already reported, the majority of 3d games is now fullspeed as well with no overclocking.

I found a bug in Megaman ZX Advent (E) The game will crash consistently if I enter the games menu and cycle through with the R button. (pressing the R button 10/15 times should do it) ;)

I have uploaded my Sav and Ml files just incase they're needed.

EDIT: this is with R6 pre3

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
