The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 E3 2021 trailer, launches 2022

New footage was shown for the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Gameplay was shown, including exploration of new sky islands, new powers, and more. In addition, it was revealed that the game now has a semblance of a release window: Eiji Aonuma says the development team is targeting a release in 2022.

why did them fucking runes still have to be in it they practically ruined the first botw since you could cheat the shrines using runes instead of solving the puzzles.

Why did the trailer feel like this will play before or after Skyward Sword?!

Also the Bokoblin camps on the big stone boss, I wonder how it'll be affected by engine bugs :tpi:

So with BOTW 2 taking to the skies and the push for Skyward Sword I guess Demise will return and seek his revenge :grog: I wonder if they plan to separate Link and Zelda where they are caught between dimensions making them both playable .. :yay:

The graphics though like it was not running on a switch but a switch pro?
It's possible. BotW was originally a Wii u game that was ported to the switch mid development. Maybe this game will also be a multi platform release for the pro.

Or there is no switch pro and because this sequel was developed for the switch in mind, it can perform better with slightly better graphics.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I don't think it's Link.
I think it's Zelda.
Nah, in the first scene you see Link get his arm modded. Every scene afterwards you see him with his robotic arm... I think...

The limited stamina, equipment fragility, and lack of map markers are what killed BotW for me, so if they want this sequel to be better they'll have to rectify those flaws. I don't see why they'd want to keep those player-hostile elements, when it just ruins the game.
The stamina and the equipment fragility is what made the game special to me. Yes it's a nuisance but it adds to the experience and gameplay. Maybe having different difficulties options can help that problem for you. I think just having more ways to increase stamina and repair weapons would be great.

This, The resolution was way too high for the standard Switch, Nintendo knows their hardware but I doubt even them could get the game looking this "high res" on the standard Switch. Or maybe it was DLSS footage?

Bruh, it's ugly as the first one, I liked so much the first trailer with link on a horse with the slow motion when he takes his bow... But the first botw didn't look like that lol

I've been thinking about one thing,
will they really include the whole map from botw?
It's already huge and pretty empty, and they mentioned adding sky islands ontop of that?
I'd actually prefer it if they scaled down the map of hyrule by a decent amount, it's too big.

Still have some non-linearity with a rune/item based progression system, but you don't just get everything at the start.. because that is stupid.
And they should give the player some sort of permanent upgrades when they discover big landmarks or travel a lot, there should be meaning behind traveling somewhere, or fighting monsters. Not just the intrinsic pleasure of just doing so because you want to.

Or maybe footage from dev computer and there is no new nintendo switch and switch pro at all.
I'd suggest to not put hype too high ^^

IMHO, it detracts from the experience and gameplay since you're forced to scavenge for whatever stick or basic club's nearby, as weapons break so damn quickly. Furthermore, it renders any "special" gear obtained from defeating tough enemies or solving difficult puzzles emotionally worthless, since I know they'll break just like everything else.
Not even the goddamn MASTER SWORD is immune to this tripe, when it should just be the one unbreakable weapon the player can look forward to obtaining and using if they don't want to be hindered by the shitty fragility system.

Honestly, the Master Sword and one Bow should be unbreakable, along with one Shield.

As for stamina...it restricts how long you can sprint, climb, glide, spin-attack, etc. for before having to wait for an arbitrary gauge to refill, and it forces a wholly unnecessary choice when spending shrine orbs (increased stamina, OR increased Hearts - when it should be AND, or even better, just the Hearts), The user experience would be far better without needless waiting.
