Wanted to ask this here too cause now I'm mighty confused.

Went on a Switch hacking discord server and people were arguing that Incognito or exosphere-based blanking may be even worse than nothing and that DNS redirection (Atmosphere's or 90DNS) is sufficient to prevent bans. The rationale was that if the values are cached anywhere else on the the device, it would be enough info to say that the Switch was tampered with and that communication with Nintendo servers is blocked regardless.

Is this true? My haunch was that at least prodinfo blanking provides some redundancy, you know, just in case.

Hello guys, I just finished reading the nice NH Switch Guide but at the very end, instead of pushing the 'Atmosphere FSS0 EmuMMC' button on Hekate, I pushed the one next to it, launching Atmosphere FSS0 SYS. Knowing that the Switch is a telemetry monster, and that I didn't connect it to internet since i began the tutorial, my question is: How screwed I am? Can I hope reconnect my switch to internet in any ways, to play online?
If you have a clean eMMC backup made before running CFW/homebrew, now is the time to restore it. Otherwise you risk getting banned if you decide to go online.

Yes this is true which is why 90DNS is preferred over Incognito but realistically, using neither is best because you don't really need to block anything if you don't have Wi-Fi settings in the first place. There is really no good reason to have Wi-Fi settings since everything can be done locally or via USB.

Some people want to use YouTube, ftp, homebrew online functionality, etc. Or people like me who accidentally go online (because being stupid because of a concussion).
So I agree with you, but it's nice it exists. Only does it really 100% works? I think my case is a good test. If I get banned, we know stealth mode doesn't work properly. To be sure you can get banned from 1 time going online, from now on, I won't go online at all.

I'll at least agree that people who use it for non-Nintendo online services are using them for their intended purpose. At their very core, these utilities aren't meant to prevent bans; they merely delay them at the very least.

hey guys this is my first post here I just got my switch lite hack today with sx lite and while he was activating the licence he went online though he made a separate partition files on emunand but I want to know if my switch got banned just by connecting to the internet . Also if anyone have a knowledge of 90 dns what it does and how to activate it plzz help

You will never get immediately banned from going online with a hacked console. Instead, you will be flagged for a potential future ban or banwave. When that will happen is up to Nintendo and its also entirely possible that you will not be banned during that time but the point is Nintendo is now aware that your console is hacked and there is nothing you can do about it.

I hope you are not right. Because going online with Android is also not getting you banned. You will only be flagged if Nintendo sees a hacked Switch going online and can identify your Switch.
So if you don't have taken any precautions measures, you are flagged. If you have, maybe not.

Let's hope you (and also I) aren't getting banned before we can buy the new Nintendo Switch.

So I was aware of these threads although I don't have a switch by I was quite active on these hacking promt site . Actually my switch is currently running on sxos with I don't think have a support in future .I saw users migrating to atmosphere for regular updates so what u guys think should I also change to atmosphere

I never said you could get banned on Android which is theoretically impossible since not only does it never connect to Nintendo's servers but its also loaded entirely from the SD card meaning not a single file touches the console.

At the very least, it is recommended to setup Atmosphere because the future of SX OS is uncertain since there has been no updates to support firmware 11.0.1

Nintendo will only ban if you're pirating games. Running CFW is safe online
If that's true, now I understand why all of ACNH's treasure islands switches haven't been banned yet...
I only use my CFW emunand to research with NHSE, having the original game. Do you think I could host an island if my game is legit, even though I am playing in CFW?

I thought SX lacked ban protection and the ban usually happen if there is mysterious error codes, especially app crash and their report sent via telemetry.

When was their last ban wave? Has Nintendo done any bans recently?

Nintendo could ban you soon if you raise the red flag and they do randomly, depending on error codes and telemetry. The installation of NSP and use SX could raise the red flag.

That is true if you use Atmosphere and this CFW almost make you feel like god mode, preventing Nintendo from mess with your Switch.

Not sure what mysterious error codes you're talking about. i only used sx os for the cheat engine feature. Anything else, I did it in atmosphere. @DarkFlare69 created a video about not being banned for many years and i believe him. By app crash, you mean the album crashing?

I means emulator crash and Checkpoint crash that lead to error code being recorded, so that how Nintendo found it and banned Switch. It did happen before Atmosphere added ban protection.

No. You have to be Running CFW to play emulators, and Atmosphere takes over crash reporting and such. That's not what got you banned.

Maybe don't use such emulator and checkpoint. JKSV is more updated to dump and restore saves. dbi is also capable of dumping saves with the MTP

I stopped use Checkpoint after many crashes but thanks to God, I'm not banned at all - thanks to ban protection that afforded in Atmosphere and I don't have issue with emulator but some other members did.

Yes, I use JKSV and have no issue.

No, SXOS has anti banning measures. https://gbatemp.net/threads/going-online-with-stealth-mode-on-sxos-to-use-homebrew.569080/
