What do you mean patches?.

Also how do you split files if using fat32?. I thought it be just a case of downloading .xci I guess and installing with awoo installer?

Idk how to split them because I preferred the installation using USB connection to the PC.

Don't use the term "sigpatches" and you will not be confused. There are 2 sets of patches; ES and FS patches. ES patches enable you to play unconverted .NSP files while FS patches allow you to launch converted .NSP files as well as install .XCI files. Without these patches, no game you download and install will work.

To install files via USB, you need a title installer on your Switch as well as a program running on your computer to feed the files to your computer. There are a wide variety of programs that you can utilize. I recommend using NS-USBloader.

After depleting my 3DS backlog I'm tempted to buy a switch .
Some questions:
1. Is unpatched switch future proof to play future games?
2. I'm mostly interested in Lite, (except if number one answer is "yes unpatched is future proof" then I will go Unpatched). Is it safe to buy patched lite now ? I'm afraid after buying it then I can't play future games because no future support for SX. Or V2 because lite might drift.
Basically I'm interested wether buying hard mod is advisable or not

1) yes because we have access to rcm an unpatched switch is the best option as even if we get locked out we can almost instantly gain access again
2) also yes but you will need the sx lite modchip however any support that goes with it may be short lived due to the current tx situation. Atmosphere may support it later down the line but that is a huge maybe

Your best bet is an unpatched swtich though imho

Hi guys. I have been thinking about picking up Pokemon Sword that comes with both Expansions/DLC, but have a few questions before I proceed:

- Is it true that the Expansions come on the actual game cart instead of being downloaded?

If yes to above:

- What System FW is required? I think my hackable Switch is on 10.1
- Does it work with Checkpoint? Also, does it use a different Title ID than the regular Pokemon Sword game cart?
- Does it work with PkHex?

Thoughts and help greatly appreciated on all of this

I mean...I just told you which patches are for what types of files. But in practice, that doesn't really matter as the ES and FS patches are usually bundled together so as long as you have downloaded both, you don't need to worry about which patches to use. The patches have instructions on how to install them and typically all you do is put them on your SD card. The CFW will apply them as long as they are in the right place.

Hey Guys, I was recently trying to update atmosphere and tinfoil but I have seemed to have messed up somewhere or deleted a file i shouldnt have. I downloaded the latest hektate files as well. With Hektate im getting an error Old nyx found there will be dragons. But the biggest issue is when launching into cfw I get an error stating missing ini or cfg files.

I am not sure where to proceed from here. Would it be possible to remove the cfw stuff and try to mod the switch again?
A friend recommended just downloading a zip from sdsetup and overwriting the existing files on the switch and trying that but I was not sure if that was safe

Yes that is perfectly fine. I should also add that SDSetup unfortunately no longer bundles patches so you should also download those which you can find here.

I'd recommend deleting your previous CFW files rather than overwriting them. If you're unsure of what to delete, just delete everything except your Nintendo folder (as this contains your games) as well as any mods in your contents older.

If you find yourself running out of room on the SD card (part of which is being used for emuMMC) can you just make a full raw data copy of the SD card (on a PC) to another SD card and then delete the games when you insert the new SD into the Switch. Presumably - it's a lot quicker to just disable autoRCM and treat it as an un-modded Switch but without the need to back up the NAND ?

Similarly, if you wanted to upgrade to a larger SD card is there a way you can transfer games from one emuNAND to another ?

I've been holding out for an untethered cold boot exploit for the switch so that I don't have to use a second device to send a payload everytime I cold boot. Is something like this possible yet or do I still need a second device to send an exploit?

My switch is Version 2.0. I bought it day one, updated from 1.0, put in a 256GB SD card to get the exFAT(?) licence. I did exploit it awhile ago to take a couple backups but its still on version 2.0.

I need really help since I don't know what I did wrong.
I have a jailbreak Switch with laters firnware and with atomsphere.
I follow this guide Switch EmuNAND Setup - Use CFW and Stock OS for Online - CFWaifu and I follow every step and now I only get black screen after atomsphere logo.
I have tried to turn Switch without RCM jig and it boot into Nintendo logo but then black screen.

It depends what you mean by untethered. To make mine more kids friendly I have my Switch running with autoRCM enabled and use an "RCM loader" - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=rcm+loader. With this device you just upload a payload file to the device and then connect the RCMloader to the Switch console's USB port whenever you power it on. Mine boots straight into Atmosphere

Hello guys,

I am kind of new to the CFW stuff with the switch and also im from Germany so my english is not the best. Already read many guides but I am still not sure so I'd be really thankful if you could help me out!
Now if I load CFW such as atmosphere on my switch, Ive seen people do NAND backups and stuff which I of course would do as well. The question Im asking myself at this point is: In the moment I do the backup, its cracked already isnt it? Like if I restore to that NAND backup I created at that point, am I actually gonna be able to play like SMM2 online again?

I dont really understand how I get to the "vanilla" switch again cuz to me it seems like im just gonna restore it to the custom/cracked switch..

Hey, Thanks for the suggestion! I know there's devices like this or you can even use your Phone.

I'm really just looking for a way to not plug any device into the switch and go from completely powered off to Atmosphere. Or maybe into a dirty sysNAND that I could run an app or something on the switch to reboot into Atmosphere.

Anyway, from what I've found online there's no easy way to do that yet so I might just cave and get a RCMloader. I was hopeful you guys had information I couldn't find via google.
