A new feature is coming to Fortnite, in the form of a paid monthly subscription. When Fortnite launches Chapter 2 Season 5, it'll also debut Fortnite Crew, an $11.99/mo subscription, which gives players access to the game's Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks, and a special cosmetic outfit. Currently, access to the Fortnite Battle Pass on its own costs 950 V-Bucks, and lasts for multiple months which is overall a much cheaper price, however the items included within the Fortnite Crew monthly bundles are exclusive, and will not be obtainable through any methods other than subscribing. Fornite's next season, and the Fortnite Crew subcription will go live on December 2nd.

Let's be real, if you buy something stupid you should do it expecting to be mocked for your poor self control. Nobody buys the 11ft d***o bat without knowing what they're getting into. Just the same nobody should buy Chineum-style "subscriptions" without expecting to be mocked for it and knowing Epically Ruining Games is under Tencent's bootheel, they'll pack more and more behind it until the game is borderline unplayable without it, What IS crossing the line into amorality is the fact Fortnite is targeted at 8-16s and they know this, and yet they're still doing this anyway.

How is this in any form advertising? I'm curious what you consider advertising, when the news is just informing people that one of the world's biggest games is adding in a new monetization feature. I don't like Fortnite, but I can't help that Fortnite also has an insane player population. Of children. What else has an insane user population of children? GBAtemp. It's my job to let people know the news, and hey ho, I did so.

I appreciate the compliment that I can write better articles in my sleep, thank you. But while I think it's major news, it's not much to cover, therefore the small article. I never try to put my own spin/views on news in the main content. I did mention the previous price of the old Battle Pass and its length, to put things in perspective in terms of price. Some people rely on GBAtemp's front page to keep up to date on news, and that's the purpose of this article. Simple.

Otherwise, is it relevant to gaming as a whole? if it fails all 3 checks it doesn't really belong on GBATemp. But your logic is shallow and your argument is weak. There's tons of gaming related news that has been posted on this site for so long now that I have to wonder if you take the time to comment on all "non-Nintendo" news posts.

GBAtemp has and always will have a focus on Nintendo news, but we haven't focused solely on Nintendo news since...*looks at join date*....2014? So, uh. Yeah. We cover all gaming news...and have been for years now.

It's relevant to gaming, because no matter how much any one person hates Fortnite, or Tencent, or the dozens of sleezy things they do, Fornite still has more millions of people playing it. It's not my fault that it exists and is popular.
