IDK about the latter other than I remember it working just fine in RetroArch, and MVC2 might run faster, but the graphics are glitching out.



OK, look everyone. This build of Flycast has been abandoned. Be it because the author found an IRL job or whatever, it doesn't matter.

For most games, the Flycast core in the RetroArch build for Horizon (the Switch OS for those who aren't aware) will work much better. For the odd game that runs slow, most everything else runs at full speed with little to no OC required, something that I don't think can be said for the N64 core from what I remember.

I mean, feel free to keep using this port of the emulator if you want, but honestly, this thread should be locked at this point.

If you have any questions about the RetroArch core, @sj33 would be glad to help. I can answer some questions as well, but don't be surprised if I don't get to you until way later in the day as some of us still have bills to pay in this pandemic.

It's actually a reference to an inside joke I have with a few friends. A lot of the time if I'm playing Halo and I use the Shotgun, I might forget the conversation we were having and have to ask them to repeat it. Never occurs with other weapons though, just the Shotgun.

I see that you're new here, so let me give you the rundown: this version of reicast on the Switch has been abandoned. I would highly encourage you try out the core on RetroArch. Even with the situation in regards to RetroArch getting hacked, I think one should still be able to download cores atm and have them be functional (someone please correct me if I'm wrong, of course). That core is known as Flycast due to drama not worth bringing back up here. The official thread for that core on the Switch is right here:

Yes, I know, but flycast does not work in sx core, it is the one I have and it gives an error, this goes very well but in virtua tennis 2 it sometimes drops to 30 fps specifically, if there was any configuration that I could configure to fix this it would be perfect, or if you know why flycast doesn't work in sx it would help me

I'm afraid anything SX related won't be something I can help you with there. I have never used it myself as atmosphere is more than well suited for my needs.

ok, thanks, hopefully flycast could be solved for sx core, I put it because it had a mariko switch and dualboot for me it suits better. I will use reicast until new solution. retroarch is my favorite app I use it a lot, I thank the retroarch team for the app

I don't think it ever will. There's ways to switch to atmosphere from SX OS without rebooting and switch back without rebooting though. It's not like you can only use one type of CFW.

How are you using Reicast on latest firmware or are you using an old firmware? I thought it didn't work on 9.0 or later.

I use it in the last update 10.2.0 and version of reicast 1.0.0.
Why do you think they will never solve flycast for sx core?

The dev m4xw does not like sx os at all. He's the one that would have to fix it. It's been over a year since it's been out and nothing, maybe the devs of sx os could fix it instead but thus far they seem to have no interest either. There's really no reason to think it ever will work on sx os. Why are you afraid to learn to switch to atmosphere to use it though? It's really not a big deal. CFW is only temporary on Switch, you can switch between the two you aren't forced to only use sx os. There's ways to switch back and forth in seconds.

can i put cfw in the boot atmosphere? I put the sx core chip so as not to make a mess. i am noob. could you install atmosphere on cfw sx os?

I forget there's newer methods such as modchip. I cannot answer because I don't have that. I have the original Switch with no modchip just cfw.

They said that they have a Mariko unit. Atmosphere still does not fully support Mariko units, since stratosphere does not support those yet.

The build linked here is the last. Try the Flycast core in RetroArch! It's much better than this!

But use Atmosphere for Flycast it doesn’t work with other OS
