Thanks!

think these un-official cores broke the connection to RetroAchievements.
Is that possible? I had RA working before I updated, at least I got a few logged earlier. So they were working. I know that I have been changing a lot over the last few days.

Are your username / password still saved? If all the settings are correct and it's still not working, I may have broken it with the problem @MrHuu pointed out.

Woah, wait.We've got RetroAchievements working on 3DS? Since when? I was under the impression that it didn't work!

@justinweiss @Kurt91 deleting every setting related file fixed the issue, also I forgot to add the cia cores inside the cores folder :P.

Yes, these are working thanks to the network features being implemented, too bad that psx isos in chd format are not supported yet as thoat is the core I play the most.

And yes, SNES9x 2005+ has much better sound accuracy but I haven't tried it too much, gonna test it in the coming updates as well.

Yeah so I tested my theory.
I located my old 1.9.0 download. I deleted the SNES 2002 core from my sd card, booted my 3ds and deleted the SNES 2002 core from your library (the one you uploaded just a page or two ago. I reinstalled the official one and... Yep. Retro achievements connected right up.
Justinweiss's cores are just too good for this world apparently.

So I assume it's something with the net code or whatever you guys were saying. I was wondering about that. Obviously stuff is over my head, but your conversation made me start wondering if that's what caused the issue.

Replaced your snes9x2002 core with your new snes9x2002 core. Works like a charm. Whatever you did, fixed it.

Let us know when the others get fixed. No rush, just excited. Thank you again!

@justinweiss

I have noticed that my 3DS locks up And must be reset if I attempt to quit from your builds using the home button (whether installed as a cia or run as a 3dsx file). I have no problems as long as I quit using the retroarch menu.

I said no rush!

Haha, they all got built anyway when I built snes9x, so it was just zip & upload.

Hm, I could swear I fixed that. I'm pretty sure what causes it, so I'll take another look. What are your vsync / async settings? Are you using threaded video and/or audio when it happens? I wonder if there's some combination of those settings I missed.

mGBA works with RA again, thanks to you. I panicked at first. I booted up Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World with the color restoration hack. Despite my md5 hashes matching, RA connects and rejects my ROM. Odd, but that one is on me apparently, because the next ROMs I tried, Yoshi's Island GBA, SMB2 GBA, and SMB3 all register with RA and give me achievement lists.

Please don’t spin your wheels on my account! I’m using the cia version that you initially uploaded a few days ago. Would the fix have been incorporated into that build?

Just to make sure I don't break anything again, what's the process for updating? Just replace all the CIAs and install again with FBI? Do I need to delete the original installed ones first, or delete all the config files again?

I'm pretty sure it was the last change I made before making the big cores zip file. I haven't been able to cause it myself, though, which is why I was wondering whether there was some combination of settings that was making it more likely.

@justinweiss

Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics play great using your latest build! With Final Fantasy IX and Suikoden II running great, that isbasically the Murderer’s Row of RPGs.
I tried FFIX myself on the latest build and the ntsc release played smoothly at full speed for the most part. I only noticed drops during the special effects in the first of the stage battles with Zidane and co on the ship's stage.

Yeah, I just finished Disc 1 myself and apart from some minor slowdown during some spell effects, the fullscreen 2D world map view, and one weird slowdown during the last scene of Disc 1, it's felt great.

BTW, I am still planning to get these changes all into official RetroArch builds, but it will probably be a while before they land. It'll probably need to wait until after the buildbot upgrades to the new 3ds toolchain.

So how do you squeeze a tiny bit of performance out of some of these emulators?
gpSP runs certain games really really well but mGBA is the only emulator that reports to RetroAchievements. I know I'm begging lol. I'm not asking for a fix for a single game, just excited.
So mGBA runs Super Mario Advance at ~30 to 45fps. Its playable but a little slow and unpredictable. gpSP is seemingly rock solid at ~58-59fps.

Have you tried the latest and nightly releases of mGBA standalone emulator? On the n3DS, ~30–45 FPS is kinda slow for SMA.

I've noticed F-Zero: Max Velocity on mGBA is much slower as a RetroArch core than standalone.
