This is my third time (once every ~5 years) hacking a wii and learning (or trying to) all the updates that have been made and integrating them. I started from a nand backup and fresh install. I've spent the last 7 days working on this, and the last 10 or so hours on this specific issue. ... Basically, I don't give up and post to a forum easily, and I've done my research.

What I'm trying to do:
Set up neek2o to run WiiWare and VC games through WiiFlow Lite.

What I can do:
I've successfully created nands from the Abz Masterpiece Pack, and ModMii. The ModMii nand is what I'm using, along with a WiiWare and a VC title, which have proven not to work without WiiFlow's Launch with neek2o, for testing.

I am able to run other (more generally compatible) games off of nand, via WiiFlow, without using the "Launch title with neek2o" option. And I'm able to boot into the emunand via the bootmii file, or with nswitch.

What I can't do:
I'm unable to load into the nand with the neek2o channel installed from "neek2o_NK2O_1.wad."
(It tries to load and makes it to "Reloading bootmii IOS" before coming back to real nand.)

And I can't get WiiFlow to run games with the neek2o option checked.
(The forever black screen)

What I've tried:
Because I can boot into emunand and play the incompatible games there, I don't think it's a game problem. Because I can't boot into emunand straight from real nand, through WiiFlow or the neek2o channel, I'm thinking that it's not a WiiFlow issue, and just has to do with my general ability to load emunand from real nand.

The only thing I could find indicated that it might be a cIOS issue. So I updated my installations. But nothing changed. Below are syschecks from before and after this change.

At this point, I've come to understand ModMii, and I'm considering just starting over from a BootMii nand backup using ModMii.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I swear I've read every relevant thread on this board.

Edit: Oh, HDD is for sure FAT32, primary, 32k clusters.

Would someone be willing to point me in the right direction to information? I feel like I've tried everything short of starting over with Modmii.

I don't know if this will be particularly helpful, but I have neek2o installed on my virtual wii with usb loader gx. to boot into neek2o menu, you have to set the emunand path to neek2o's emunand. remember: the emunand for most vc games should not be neek2o (only problematic ones). you can only set one default emunand, so you have to change it to that in order to book into neek2o. depending on how much content is installed, it might take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. you'll know something is happening if the hdd activity light keeps flashing like it's reading something.

anyway, to boot a specific game, you need to go into game options, and change emunand path from default (the emunand with most of your games) to the neek2o emunand. since you can't have two default emunands at the same time, it must be done for each game. right now, I just have vania rebirth and valis 2 using neek2o. unlike the wii, the console resets automatically after exiting a neek2o game.

what files are you using for neek2o? on the vwii, you just need the virtual wii kernel one, font.bin, and the di one if you want disc access, so just three files.

Thank you for taking the time! :)

I have it set up so that, while all the wads are installed in emunand, and only the problematic ones (about 10 N64 games, Castlevania ReBirth and Sonic 4) are set to use neek2o. And I'm able to load the non-problematic ones through WiiFlow, no issue. And I can run the problematic ones if I boot into emunand (with the bootmii file) and load their channels. I have tried, and was able to load IOS's, like in your picture, but I just want WiiFlow, so I switched to uneek, without DI.

(I should mention that I've just been testing with Majora's Mask and Sonic 4, so I know it's not an issue of too many games installed)

But my goal is to have WiiFlow be the hub, on real nand, from which all games are played.

The weird thing, to my eye at least, is that I can only load into neek2o emunand via bootmii and nswitch. And I can't load anything from the neek2o channel (again, gets to "reloading bootmii ios" and reloads system menu), or from WiiFlow (black screen that lasts at least 30 minutes before I gave up).

In my USB I just have kernal.bin. ModMii also made a sneek folder for my SD, which has font.bin. Just to test, I moved that over to USB and no change.

both files go in the sneek folder. this is even true if using usb.(uneek), but in that case, sneek goes on the usb drive.

Have you tried USB loader GX? I mean if the neek2o mode works on that loader maybe the problem is wiiflow
Honestly, I like the way it looks, and I'm doing this for my sister and her kids as well (my Wii is the test) and I think they'll be blown away.

But it IS WiiFlow. I got frustrated after restoring nand and re-hacking with ModMii. I still couldn't load from nand with neek2o. So I tried USB Loader GX. Worked flawlessly.

At this point, I think I'm going to install problematic games to real nand and others to emunand, and have WiiFlow show both. Unless I can get a better answer... Fingers still crossed!

@shawksly That's exactly what i do, pass all the saves from the wii to the emunand (and load them from the emunand in my USB) and install those stubborn wads to the Wii. My problem is that my HDD isn't compatible with sneek mode just partial emunand.

Are you saying that your whole system loads into nand? Otherwise, how do you pull off compatibility?

I'm going through and testing games right now, and realizing that far fewer of them are compatible than I had hoped...

@shawksly No no i use the emunand in USB loader GX i set the emulation in partial and i can say that almost 90% of games works without problems, the ones that dont work are some N64, castlevania rebirth etc. This ones require run the neek mode or install on the real nand but my HDD isnt compatible with neek mode, i tried a lot of usb flashdrives and none work, only SD works in that mode for my Wii but i want to have everything in the HDD so i save time and install them on real NAND.

Gotcha! Yeah, at this point I think I would switch over to USB Loader GX if it could better separate Wii and GC games, as well as other emulators.

All the channel does is load nswitch, if nswitch is working for you, I think the problem with the channel is that the HDD is not initialing fast enough. When launching via the HBC using nswitch the hbc would have already started up the HDD so it makes sense. Try using the channel immediately after having used the HDD for something, if u do it quick enough it may work and confirm my suspicions

I tried playing a game off the HDD, exiting and loading into a game off neek2o. No change. I don't think that's it anyway because I'm running WiiFlow off USB in the first place, and I'm able to run non-problematic games off emunand without neek2o (but still from the HDD). Thank you though. I'll try anything at this point.

I'm looking at your syscheck again.... do you not have bootmii installed as ios to slot 254? This may be the issue with the channel, but if so it's still odd that it would work via the hbc but not the channel. Anyway, try reinstalling bootmii as ios (this may overwrite the sd:/bootmii files for sneek so u might need to copy them back after) and see if that makes a difference

it's a bit complicated with usb loader gx. you have to install neek2o games twice: once for the emunand that's default just so the game will appear; then, again to the neek2o nand. make sure to change the game settings to the neek2o nand for each game.

XFlak, I was doubtful. But I installed BootMii as IOS and it did the trick! Even with BootMii already installed in Boot2

I also started over and restored from nand, rehacking using ModMii, in case that helps anyone with my issue down the line. I used ModMii to create a UNEEK (no DI, because I didn't want to load games from within emunand, however, I did have DI working at one point as well).

I didn't import cert or Shared2 from anywhere. I just paired the wiimote at the loading screen for the game.

Full nand in WiiFlow settings.

Cyan's info here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/neek2o-stuck-on-reloading-bootmii-ios.533979/), and the "neek and emunand guides" linked on this page (https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Cyan) were probably the most helpful otherwise.

I just hope this helps someone else, as I've spent literally 15-20 hours trying to fix this issue.

@godreborn and @XFlak, thank you so much for both of your help. @Draxikor too! It kept me going if nothing else! :D

Hi there,

I am wondering if you can help me setup my vwii nand. I found a compiled version of sneek on another GBA forum where I saw posts from you asking on how to compile and install sneek on vwii. Since you were able to make sneek/uneek work on vwii, can you tell me how you got it to work? I put the sneek files in a folder called sneek and place it on my root of the HDD. I backed up my nand with dumpmii program and extracted it using showmywads program. I then try to run sneek from my vwii home screen and it stays stuck on this screen.

I setup Uneek properly on my Wii. Can I have vwii and Wii sneek files on the same HDD?

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

is sneek in the sneek folder on the sd card or usb drive? you need to link to it in usb loader gx. it's been a very long time since I messed with it on the wii. I don't remember that very well, but you mean vwii?

Yes, I'm talking about vWii. I have the sneek folder on the root of the Hard Drive. I tried to link it to usb loader gx the same way I did for my Wii. The animation and banners display correctly. When I try to load a game the "start" and "settings" come up, but the game image is black screen.
