'New Pokémon Snap' announced for Nintendo Switch

During today's Pokémon Presents, the Pokémon Company announced the comeback of a beloved title: Pokémon Snap. Aptly titled New Pokémon Snap, Nintendo describes it as a "new adventure" that is "inspired by the classic Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap."

While details are scant, Nintendo also shared this title's description:

Travel to unknown islands with beautiful scenery like lush jungles and sandy beaches. The Pokémon pictures you take there will be used to build your very own Pokémon Photodex! This brand-new game brings the gameplay of the 1999 Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo 64 system to life on the Nintendo Switch system with unknown islands to discover and different Pokémon to see!

Photograph lively wild Pokémon in their natural habitats as you research and explore unknown islands. Journey through a variety of environments such as beaches and jungles to capture previously-unseen Pokémon behaviors. The photos you take can also be used to fill out your very own Pokémon Photodex!

New Pokémon Snap is under development by Bandai Namco for the Nintendo Switch but no release window has been shared.

This would’ve been an obvious choice for the Wii U, but better late than never! This is gonna be a day one buy for me for sure
I bet they were thinking about it but noticed how the Wii U was flop and postponed it for the Switch.

Guess Bandai Namco has to show Gamefreak how to make Pokemon on the switch look good.
That and what fans want.

Hopefully it isn’t crap. I just learned it is being produced by bandai namco. i’m surprised Nintendo and the rest of the pokemon company are allowing outsiders to touch their beloved ip

I always thought it was a meme, as the original one wasn't THAT good, but I can see the fun you could get
Still looks way better than Sword & Shield, I'm genuinely more interested in this than in any game developed by Gamefreak

thank bandai not game freak ;)
When do people learn to read.
it was a game ordered to bandai namco so yeah still have to thank gamefreak to ask for a game and pay them to do it lol.

bandai cant just make a pokemon game without gamefreak and nintendo ok, nintendo has been ordering alot of games with bandai, i wonder why they dont join forces more often, who knows if nintendo will buy them out in the future.

hardly the first time.
Pokken was developed by bandai too and Pokemon Conquest by Koei
there was that switch one on early life pokemon quest? or whtever? it was a free game also not developed by nintendo or gamefreak.

pokemon colosseum and XD on the gamecube were also not developed by gamefreak and that is the reason they still have better graphics than pokemon sword and shield lol.
