^ Can confirm the editor picks up the save file, yet when done, the save file itself disappears from the selected slot. Be sure to make a back up just in case.

Ok so figured out how to successfully use the save editor. The data00XX.binslot has a checksum relating to the save data. So here's what you need to do in order modify your save.

Gonna run through this using HxD, but you can use similar means.

1. Make a back up just incase!
2. Open your data00XX.bin file in the P4G Save Tool and edit how you want. Save it.
3. After saving, calculate the MD5 checksum of your data00XX.bin file. You can do this in HxD by opening the file, clicking on Analysis > Checksums. Scrolldown to MD-5, select it, then click Ok. You should see the checksum at the bottom of the window (can see in screenshot).
4. Open up the corresponding data00XX.binslot file and copy the checksum value into the highlighted addresses in the screenshot.

5. Save the file and launch P4G. If it worked, you should still see your file and have your changes. If it didn't, the file won't show up at all.

Hope this helps!

Could this work to get vita files recognized since they seem to be the same format?

You absolute mad lad, Colby! It works thanks to you bud!

There is also an easier way

1 - Make a Save
2 - Go to the Loadscreen
3 - Tab out of the game
4 - Edit the save
5 - Tab back into the game and load

The loading works even though the file will be "gone" next time you visit the save/load screen
But you can just save in the same slot again :P

We managed to get some Vita saves working by splicing in chunks in the hex editor manually, but just dropping in a vita save and calculating the checksum will not work.

Clever! Much easier. Aha

So this worked for a minute, but now the game is crashing ever time I use the save editor. Changing the Checksum does nothing, same goes for editing saves while the game is running per MasterPanda. It worked for a minute but now I'm having no luck. Any suggestions?

Fine for a new save. The save was from a Vita save. Editing worked on that save though, then it didn't. Weird.

Did the Hero EXP edit work on the Vita? 'Cause it doesn't seem to work for the PC saves (at least for me). It's seems to be the value of a different address than in the Vita save .... which hints at a certain discrepancy between the save structures ... maybe your Vita save contains information the PC version can't handle

It was broken and the fix for it (https://github.com/fendevel/P4G-Save-Tool/pull/12) was never merged.
But, I don't have the PC version so i can't say if the fix works on PC saves.

edit the save while the game is running and is on the "load game" screen (the screen that shows all of your saves), once you are done with your edits just load the save that was edited. Just make sure to save once you confirmed the alterations are done

Hello...
When i try to do the load data thing after editing.

I get a japanese error screen after clicking ok it says "Sorry! Application has crashed."
I tried the MD5 checker way too, and nothing's working.
And oh yea, it worked yesterday but now it just doesn't work and when that happens and sometimes it makes this XXXXX.binslot.bak file for some reason.

I tried making the game fullscreenm borderless, windowed. people said that the problem is an msi afterburner application, but i dont even have that installed on my rig.

did anyone encounter this, and did you find a way around it?

Edit: I re-installed my whole game, still the same.......

I am having the same issue like you
Tried both way and none works, seeing the Japanese Error message too

Hello So im new to this save editor thing and how do I keep my character (Hero) to stay at level 99 cause each time I set it to 99 and finish a battle I always go back to another level like say level 8 to level 9.

The save backup file is .dat not .bin (I'm using Vita SaveMgr). How do I make it work? Renaming the file to .bin crashes the save editor. Thanks.

Edit: Ok, I figured it out. I got the file from the wrong folder. I needed to get the .bin files form the ux0:data/savegames folder.

I cannot seem to get the save editor to work on P4G Vita, it just keeps crashing for whatever reason, I extracted my save using "Vita Save Manager", and loaded "data0001.bin" just as the instructions stated, but that's just not cutting it.

Does this require a latter version of P4G, as I'm using "1.00", or what else could be causing the issue?

is there any cheat/mod/etc way to add Izanagi no Okami to the compendium? I seem to have added it, but it is not visible on the list.
