When I use NODRAWINGDISTANCE=1 the game freezes on Course 3 when Mario dive on the water. Someone managed to solve this problem?

EDIT: nevermind, compiled using the nightly branch and it's fine now.

V5 is available now with several bug fixes. :

"NOTES: Final Bowser can now be spun and thrown much easier Fixed end of game smashing into wall, Mario dying, and bug with Peach coming out of stained glass Fixed damage calculations Fixed lots of Lethal Lava Land bugs, including last unobtainable star Fixed Lochness Monster issues Fixed Bo-bombs growing too large Fixed Bullies moving half the distance they should Fixed the broken sound on the Bowser trap door (Nintendo broke it, it never played in retail game) Fixed another Nintendo bug where the star is not blue when its in the bird's talons```"

You will know if you are on Version 5 because it says "V5" on the top right of the screen on the opening menu.

Seem to be more and more bugs added with each new version. Honestly its just better to play the first release!

Tried version 5. Theres animation bugs aplenty, certain animations play too fast. the ground pound is too floaty.

It's still beta, the bugs are there because of the switch to 60FPS, the bugs are being ironed out just give them some time.

Yes but they seem to be updating and only going 60fps.
Someone has to test it to report bugs, so it's uploaded as a beta version. If you don't want it, just use V3 and wait for a proper 60FPS release. I don't understand where the problem is. Once all bugs are fixed it will be the new stable release.

Found v6 55mb is that normal? I'm missing v2 and v5
Yeah, it got bigger because it got higher res textures.
Apparently by V6 they've fixed most of the bugs related to making it run at 60fps, but it still might not be quite perfect yet. They've also maxed out the draw distance, which looks pretty nice, I only played in the first level but it was cool being able to see the whole level from the top of the hill.

Holy hell I've just tried version 6 and the improvements are pretty eye opening! Huge draw distance, better textures absolutely everywhere. A totally locked 60fps and all for under 60mb. If I didn't know any better this could actually pass for an official remaster and people would have lapped it up had it been a legit Nintendo release. I'm impressed

Agreed. The game looks and plays beautifully now.

Anyone have the github for this version with better gaphics/camera and such? I'm looking to compile it for myself not a premade binary

Just tried v6 - it looks amazing! Loving it. The draw distance and high res textures are incredible

Only slight downer is the camera controls don't seem to let you do the mario look around view. So for example you can't look up from just within the castle to go to the red cap switch. Or am I missing something?

Old camera are now in the non-analog control on the left joy-con, just press arrow up to get the Mario view...

I have many questions, who is updating and where is uploading the updates? XD
Im so interested in see the changelog and many more

Hello!
Could someone explain to me how to compile with textures?
I can't get it to work ...
I download the package with the res folder (actors, levels, textures) and put this folder in:
sm64-switch/build/us_nx/res
Compile with the option EXTERNAL_TEXTURES=1
What am I doing wrong?
