ROM Hack Question Request - Mario Tennis Aces Save File with alt costumes unlocked

I have the same problem with the last 3 characters not unlocked. Read thru you guys comments and decided to solve the problem last night. And I just found out the solution. So basically, you must have your Nintendo account link with your local account in order to unlock the last 3 character and have the system clock sync with the internet.

- What I did to solve the problem (without risking ban) was restore my sysnand from my clean Nand backup (as i'm using emunand right now with sx os).
- After restore the sysnand, I turned off the system, take out the sd card. Turn it on again normally as you do with a legit system.
- Get into the system, set the clock, connected wifi and link extra Nin account to the system (as I have 1 main account and 1 extra, so I decided to link my extra one).
- After that, disconnect wifi, clean all the internet settings. Reset all caches and stuffs. Turn on Airplane mode. Turn off the system. Put the jig and dongle and started to created the emunand (Note that you will need a clean sd card to create new emunand) from sysnand (the one we just got linked account).
- After all is done, jumped to your emunand, install the game, all updates. And there you go, you will have the last missing 3 characters.

I know this is time wasting to do for one game but, I rather do this legitimately with my account than using Kefir updater (looks shady AF). You can also access to play MK11 with this setup so it's worth to my case.

I dont really know about the 100% save with all the skins and stuffs, but i just need all characters bases on my liking and going to go thru the campaign by myself.

Wow boy, going the extra mile for those characters I have only one account and I thought that it was... like connected, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, thanks for the detailed intruction, it may be the only way to do it if no one will make a cheat file for the game.

I really don't want to connect my switch to the internet, and really would like these 3 characters to get the complete setup...
So man, could you dump your save with checkpoint using .nro ? That would be really really nice.

I wonder if this can be fixed with the same setup as animal crossing. A switch with the characters unlocked should be able to dump the bcat file and that should be able to be restored on banned (or switches not online) and the characters should theoretically be unlocked.

I did the following (I will be probably banned, but I don't care...):
1. I set the clock to internet one, and connected wifi.
2. I linked a nnid to my profile.
3. I installed the game and the latest update 3.1.0 with nsp.
4. I started the game, and as I didn't have save, the first min of adventure mode were necessary to continue.
5. When I was on the map in adventure map, I came back to main screen.

But whatever the mode is, the 3 last characters are not unlocked... And my switch was always online during all setup.

If someone has a save or BCAT file like Animal Crossing to unlock them, please let us know.

That's the problem we all have bro. Still I have a new idea. Woulld it be possible to transfer the save to Yuzu (the Switch emulator) and to activate the characters there? I heard it has a BCAT activation system. If that would be possible, we could transfer the save to the PC and back, and have the characters activated that way.

It should work just like the animal crossing unlock. Or that is the theory. The anyone else should be able to restore it.

Appreciate the sentiment for sure, but this guy is the same one that first started circulating the animal crossing stuff and they also dump mario maker levels and other stuff. They know far more than me and know what they are doing. Done properly and with multiple nands, etc... it is fairly safe to do this stuff. All of the scene groups use these methods to get the game tickets as well.

For the last three characters, Mario Tennis Aces seems to be referring to a system time inside the Switch that users can't touch.
By setting the internal time in switchtime.nro, the three characters can be used.
However, even when comparing the save data where the character appeared, there were so many changes that I couldn't pinpoint the costumes with my skill.

I dumped a save with skins on it. But it seems that the game has a online check. The skins become disabled on offline cfw. I don’t know. Maybe I can find the variable that tells the game it’s offline or online, but I don’t know if I’ll ever have the free time

You need to sync’s your time to real time. If you use incognito, just go and sync time in settings. If you use something like a dns you’ll need a seperate homebrew to “trick” your switch into thinking you’re Using the real time.

Even if you are offline, you can change the network system clock of the switch via NTP to the same state as if you had changed the network system clock of the switch.
(Sorry I can't make a link because I'm a Newbie)

I have successfully decrypted my Mario Tennis Aces save data.
The encryption is done by TinyMT cipher table and bitwise XOR and circular shifts.
This allowed me to figure out the address of the costumes.

The easiest way to make the costumes unlocked is to load the edited save data as version 1.x.x.
(Save data from version 2.0.0 and later are encrypted, but earlier versions are not.)
By using the attached save data, you can make all of the costumes unlocked.
I have created 100% data and 0% data.
Use whichever one you like.
