i've installed wii flow lite today on my vWii but i cannot load properly gc games with nintendont.
The console freezes when it tries to initialize the virtual memory card.
nintendont can load games without any issues when i use it alone (without wii flow).

I've mostly got WiiFlow Lite 5.4.4 working with a few exceptions.

- the channels menu - every channel I try to start causes it to crash in different ways.
- I installed what the tutorial said to install for the source_menu, but when I try to go into source menu settings it says no source menu is installed, or something like that. How do I get the source_menu working?

I'm having some problems trying to load a game from SD with WiiFlow (wii sports NTSC on a PAL vWii), I have tried disabling NAND emulation, changing IOSs, changing video settings, and nothing works (it just hangs with a black screen, forcing me to unplug the console).
Any help?

If it says 'no souce menu installed', and you're using the default theme, it means you have no source_menu.ini in your wiiflow/source_menu folder.
You didn't mention which tutorial you followed. I'm assuming you are referring to Danimalzpwn3 's tutorial, which includes the Rhapsodii Shima theme.
If what I'm assuming is correct, you'll have to switch to the Rhapsodii Shima theme first (Wiiflow settings page 2), and only then you'll be able to access the source menu settings.

I hadn't installed the theme. Thought I just wanted the default. But now I've installed it and switched to it a viola, I get the source menu! But the source menu is kind of useless as it turns out, because it shows every conceivable game system. It's a pain in the ass to navigate as a result.. I only want it to show Snes9xGx right now. I'll be adding some others, but not even 10% of the possible sources. The settings menu in WiiFlow lets me enable/disable plugins, which I did, but the theme seems to ignore it. Is there any way to get the theme to pay attention to the enable/disabled plugins settings, or does it have its own settings somewhere?

Try force cios off in startup settings.

It's very easy to remove the entries you don't need from the source menu. Just open with a text editor the ini files inside wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima (source_menu.ini, arcades.ini, consoles.ini etc...) and delete the buttons you don't need.
I've included all supported game systems, to allow anyone with basic wiiflow knowledge to adapt things to their personal needs.
Lastly, the themes don't "ignore" anything (I don't see how they could, since they only change the aesthetic appearance of a program, not the code).

i just meant I can disable a plugin, but it still shows that emu in the source menu. I take it there’s no way for a theme to get and use those settings. NBD. Thanks for the explanation of how to do it!

you can't disable a plugin and expect it not to show in the source menu.
the select plugin menu is not a way to disable or enable plugins from showing on the source menu. its just a different type of source menu that uses checkboxes.
