If you go to System Settings and on the top screen you see a firmware version starting with "Sys," then the CFW installation worked like a charm. (The official Nintendo firmware would start with "Ver.") You can go online with that, and updating firmware will go through the CFW channels.

Right at the beginning of the 3DS Hack Guide, it is recommended to turn off Showing What Games You Play (in Friends List, under its Settings, bottom option) and to go into System Settings, Network Settings and then Street Pass to turn off Sharing Data With Nintendo (also bottom option).

I needed my cfw 3ds' sd card for something so i was gonna move the data to a folder but i accidentally deleted it and now when i put the sd card in my 3ds it says "Could not detect a microSD Card. The software on the microSD Card could not be displayed". So i formated the 3ds and now it deleted all the data but it still says the same thing.

Hello! I have a problem updating my Luma, and nobody managed to help me in my old forum (not their fault, they did help me in the past and I'm very grateful for that). I have a N3DS ver 11.6.0-39E, and CFW installed ages ago, I need to update the whole thing so I knew I needed to update Luma, but to do so, I needed to follow the a9lh to b9s guide... except that godmode prevents me to follow the second step of the guide.
I really do hope I'm not asking something that was already explained, but I hacked the 3DS so long ago that I don't remember much of what I did, and bc of the quarantine I cannot access my old games that I need for my thesis

What do you mean by it prevents you? Are you using the latest version?

I was going to attach pics but I'm still a newbie so I can't, but basically the guide tells me to start the 3DS by keeping "start" pressed, but If I do so, GodMode launches and it was not written in the guide so I need confirmation from someone who actually understands because I forgot everything and I don't want to brick it

3ds CFW: Restoring functionality on a new SD card [post #2]

If you still have a backed up copy of your Nintendo 3DS folder before the Format System Memory, see this other example thread.

Turn off the 3DS. Turn on the 3DS, and hold the (SELECT) button. Do you see Luma3DS v#.# configuration? If yes, what version is it?

I have read that warning as well. It happened out of the blue, without me formatting or moving folders. Maybe the Micro SD could not make contact with the connectors because when I took my Micro SD card out and popped it back in, everything worked again.

However, sicne you have now formatted your card, I fear you might have set yourself back a few steps. Did you format your internal SD card on your PC or did you use your 3DS to return the system to its factory settings?

Its the fact they formatted the whole console. which is something they need to avoid. They need to show up here first before doing something stupid like that. Its a set back on sd card wipes. but console wipes are a lot worse.

I formatted it with the 3ds back to factory settings.

I formatted it with the 3ds back to factory settings.
When you factory reformat the 3DS with the SD card inserted,
  • System SettingsOther SettingsFormat System Memory
, everything that was in the Nintendo 3DS folder containing all your games, updates, dlcs, and saves gets permanently deleted.

Unfortunately, data recovery software will not be able to help you as Nintendo made sure to overwrite garbage values to your data in the system reformat.

Hello there, I just got a 3DS XL (with b9s crack I'm told) recently.
I update all the stuff according to the 3DS Hack Guide website once I got the machine, and I plug the mario Kart game card in, and started playing the lovely racing game.
However, during my time playing, this screen keeps showing up whenever I'm in a cup racing or right after I finished the cup waiting for the podium cut scenes:

An exception occurred
Processor: ARM11 (core 0)
Exception type: prefetch abort
Fault status: Permission - Section

I do not understand what's happening at all, so I install the game with FBI (got a cia online) but sitll the problem persists. Other games I install using FBI seems to be just fine. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? All I want is to play some decent races with my 3ds.

Can you get Luna3DS with broken buttons?
I have a new 2ds xl with steelhax and a broken L button.
I don't think a broken (L) button will make trouble when installing B9S. By default the combination for opening the Rosalina Menu is (L)+(dpad↓)+(Select).

Download one of the config.bin files I made a while ago in order to change the combination.

Consider cleaning the button which means removing corrosion (Careful! Don't lose any parts!) or soldering in a replacement button (tiny soldering points!!).

Hi, if I buy Japan 3DS can I install CFW and make everything in English?
https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing
You may lose eShop access. :!: Don't uninstall CFW after region change.
