Yes, but I mean you use rosalina menu, hbmenu, FBI.3dsx, etc. initially.
no you don't... you literally cannot use FBI or load the Rosalina menu until the point where custom firmware is installed ... if you want to speak of what you do to install custom firmware then everything before the point where you put the Luma.firm on your SD card

Okay real talk here and forgive my bluntness but what is the point? you keep attempting to dodge this question by being a shortest possible saying silly things like have fun with mset or the launch Gateway on 4.2 ... when that's outdated even by Gateway standards it just baffles me to no end, so please ... without sighing like some sarcastic a-hole who's not out here asking for help please take the time to explain to me, why I should take the time to explain to you how to accomplish your goal for instance what exactly is your goal is and/or why it's your goal

I totally understand that you wouldn't understand. Basically, I want to try out gateway since 2018 and I'm looking for a way to boot Gateway on modern firmware luma3ds (11.13 in my case) by using an EmuNand Or MSET. (somehow)

Ok, I understand the drive behind your motivation, you should see the crazy shit I do to my 3DS. But that being said, what you are asking for either isn't possible as the method was patched out years ago or would require a lot of steps and risks bricking your system. If you don't have any of the tools to fix a brick, then you are SOL until you do. Even if you accomplish your goals, what's the payoff? I am not one to judge people doing crazy shit to their systems, but I feeling you aren't very experienced here and you are getting way in over your head.

I bricked my 3ds once and fixed it. XD

Boi! What are you trying to accomplish?
Well, I can't remember what happened but I think I installed a corrupt home menu. It would give me a exception error on every boot!
However, I could fix it because I had a SysNand backup and had a small window were I could turn my 3ds off, unplug the SD card, plug the SD card back in, and boot to gm9.

yeah but thats because you had luma and B9

what you want to do requires removing that.
you will literally require to remove brick protection to do what you want to do.

also it really wasnt that hard brick or hard to fix since your can force shutoff by holding power for 13 seconds

you could have grabbed a nand dump online to fix that, what you did was just simpler and basic fix

Yeah, almost TOO EASY of a fix. Anyways, how do I downgrade my EmuNand? Is there any good tools?

I am fairly certain I've seen links flying around to the dual-booting Luma and Gateway thread... so yes in fact you can have luma on your sysnand and Gateway on a slightly outdated emunand...but there is literally no reason to even do this as you can get a sd card for the price of a gateway and swap it out when needed the only reason this would ever be understandable to do is if you had a n3ds XL and didn't want to take off the back plate to access the memory card slot ... please give up the notion of using old patched out exploits like mset (Or a cfw that is designed to brick systems if they don't use it properly for that matter...I'm looking at you gateway) the way you are trying to go about it will not end well, even if it does work and you evade a brick you will be left without the ability to play like 60% of 3ds games as you will be on 4.2. It's just honestly it sounds really silly you want to give up 60% of 3DS games in order to what exactly try out a dead piece of technology that is notorious for nefariously Wrecking 3DS systems ...I realize that you said you've already recovered from a brick but you've also noted that you've used gm9 to do that but if you go down the path you set for yourself you'll be removing gm9 so you won't have a way to recover from a brick if it happens then you plan on installing a CFW with a known brick code in it, and what's more you've noted that you won't purchase a ntr boot flash card and you also state that you don't have a Gateway yet this in itself is baffling you won't buy the card that can protect you by recovering from any brick but you will buy the card that's loaded with codes a brick a system the lack of logic the shows makes it hard for anyone to want to help you honestly the best help you're going to get is this link here to the thread dedicated dual booting Luma and Gateway using the most modern versions of each that you can on the highest firmwares for each that you can also i can tell you from experience keeping 3DS versions and CIA versions of multiple different games is ridiculous and a waste of hard drive space on your PC but something you'll need to do if you plan on using a flash card and custom firmware

I already told you. Get a 9.2 ctrtransfer image and ctrtransfer on your emuNAND. Then update it to 11.2 with the right files and sysupdater. If you own a gateway card, you can follow the tutorial to use Gateway on B9S. Any other method of booting Gateway besides following that tutorial involves uninstalling B9S on your system as well as a brick risk.

And please understand it is impossible to load Gateway mode in any way at all if you do not have a Gateway red card. Gateway is closed source and nobody has been able to separate the rom loading menu from the check for the red card. If the red card is not detected, Gateway mode will not launch no matter which way you are trying to launch it. No launch method in the entire history of the 3DS will work. Not B9S, not A9LH, not browser, not homebrew, and not MSET.
