They were 'ban-happy' when they could be on the 3DS.
(Several ban-waves in the past, esp. after dummies played online with leaked games)
The problem was that (in most circumstances) there was no way to identify a pirated game vs a legitimate game like there is on Switch nor was there as heavy-handed logging iirc.

Nintendo learned from that and made extensive logging from the Switch's start and a sure-fire way of detecting illegitimate installed titles and applications.

Don't like it? Don't play their stuff. :)

They are perfectly entitled to protect their property. Weirdly i was an early adopter of modding on the Switch, i've installed NSP files many many times. I connected online not to play pirated games but to use eshop and play Fortnite now and then.

I switched to emummc not long ago and i'm still not banned.

I mean they're no more trigger happy with the bans than anyone else, they're just typically late to the party. Sony and Microsoft have been banning aggressively for years, as peteruk suggested it has more to do with subscription online, and the telemetry it enables.

I assume you were banned for something.
You'd be wrong there sir. We haven't haxed our Switch because we don't currently have a jig, sd card large enough for emuNAND, or easy way to boot firmware. Also, bending stuff is out of the question because I suck at properly lining things up. (Gotta love Autism Spectrum Disorder + ADHD!)

Microsoft now allows you to run any homebrew you want on the Xbox One.

Sorry I'm confused I'm kinda new to the Nintendo mod scene buy I thought it was remotely impossible to get banned if you had the dualboot configuration set up. Maybe back in the day before emunand that's where alot if the banwaves happened. But now unless you attempt to run a pirate game and do CFW on a non dns setting or igcontico that can get you banned. I just never connect to wifi on CFW and always delete wifi settings on emunand.

But to answer your question it's because people who glitch games make it bad for the players. I remember playing pokemon diamond back in the day and I played against people with glitched pokemon so it wasnt a fun experience. Nintendo Stives for a fun equal playing experience.

Having CFW you are making a trade play all the games you want for free on single player but you csnt go online. But considering how advanced the scene is you have the ability to play CFW/OFW without getting banned.

I got babes about 2 minutes after I installed my first NSP. Goes to show how unpredictable it really is (I've been ding the switch stuff since basically day one atmos.

I never had babes, even after all this time having my Switch hacked.

What's your secret?

I don't get it. Why is Ninty so trigger happy with their ban hammer now and never was in the height of the 3ds hacking scene?

I cannot care what Nintendo is doing. They can do whatever they wants but they can't do anything to stop us anyway. That's why I am staying offline since I am not fan of online at all.

they were triggerhappy then too, but they didn't have much of any checks and from what we can gather, banning was a very manual process.

this time, they set in place checks to find banworthy offenses easier.
