I don't really see what's wrong with them tightening their security this time around, compared to other consoles they've released. They've actually tried to do something this time. Maybe it's because I don't have a risk of a ban because of LineageOS (I'd recommend LineageOS if you want to play emulators on your switch; e.g GameCube, PSP, etc. From what I know there is no way for Nintendo to detect it and it's just android, so it has all the same features.) like other cfw for switch.
Also, you can't homebrew an xbox one, you're talking about developer mode and developer accounts, yes you can get retroarch on xbox one, but it's not homebrew.
Also, having an easily hackable console is bad for them, as they lose profits due to high piracy, where with switch they're trying to stop that, compared to the 3DS, wii and all, where bans were very rare (only bans I know of are playing pirated copies of games before release, and that brick from I think it was the first 3DS flashcart, but that was not a nintendo ban). Might be seen as bad trying to defend a big corporation, but, I think they're doing well.
