Goldleaf - A Nintendo Switch multipurpose homebrew tool

Goldleaf

Goldleaf is a multipurpose homebrew tool for Nintendo Switch!

Goldleaf.1.jpg

Similar to the well-known 3DS homebrew FBI, Goldleaf serves as a file browser/manager/editor, title manager, user account manager... and more!

Let Goldleaf make your life easier while dealing with more or less technical Nintendo Switch stuff!

I could really use some help from someone, please!
Goldleaf 0.7.3 with Hekate v5.1.1 with Atmosphere 0.10.1 Switch firmware 9.1.0
I cannot get Goldleaf to install NSP files. I keep getting Invalid NCA. I have downloaded sigpatches but I still get the error. Any ideas?
I could really use the help please.

I downloaded Goldleaf 0.8.0 but the Quark gives me an error.

Please any help will be appreaciated

Use the atmosphere-updater on github and do a full upgrade even if you are on the latest and greatest. I had a similar behaviour today on my two switches as yours and got them cleared for smooth installation after 'upgrading' through that nro.
For goldleaf 8.0, make sure you download JRE version 13 and remove JRE version 8 you may have installed for Quark prior to the new version released today with Goldleaf 8.0

The only bug i have noticed is that before you could add a selected path so when you run goldleaft the Switch would automatically see the folder you selected with the NSP's in...seems to be broken you select the path with Quark but it never adds it for some reason.

Where do you find Java v 13? Only v 8 is being served on the official download site?

Finally got around to updating my Switch last night, latest FW, latest AMS and latest Goldleaf (0.8)

Everything working beautifully with Goldleaf - I was dead set against using Quark (I got on really well with goldtree tbh) but once I updated Java to version 13 (i think) everything was plain sailing and idiot proof

Thank you for the continued work on this project XorTroll :)

I've tried Goldenleaf on SX OS 2.9.3 and Switch console firmware 9.1.0 but it doesn't work. Every time I try to install a game via PC, the console crashes and I have to reboot the system. Why?

Version 0.8 it doesn’t work for me, Java can’t run the Quark.jar file (but the 0.7.3 Quark file works perfectly).
Can’t understand how to make it work. For SX OS is better to use other USB installers?

Quark now requires Java 9 or higher, as you can read in the changelog: https://github.com/XorTroll/Goldleaf/releases/tag/0.8
Check you Java version, and update it if it's lower than 9.
You could also try NS-USBloader: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ns-usbloader-another-one-tinfoil-and-goldlead-usb-installer.533394/

I’ve updated Java to the 9th version and now the file Quark.jar runs perfectly. I moved the .nro file of the Homebrew to the Switch and it works too on SX OS. When I’m trying to instal a game from the PC as source, Goldenleaf freezes and nothing happens. I select the file from PC, then click on Install and then Install on MicroSD or Internal Memory. In both cases the homebrew freezes and the client on Windows seems that is doing nothing. How can I fix that?

I faced the same issues and am now using Awoo Installer + ns-usbloader, Faultless.

I was able to make it work with a re-installation of Goldleaf drivers and a change of USB port on my PC

what driver do you mean ?
Zadig / libusbk 3.0.7 ?

I am very sorry because it is my favorite installer
but ...
... Goldleaf 0.8.0 is a disaster

Goldleaf 0.8.0 + Quark 0.3.0 + java v13 + proper keys.dat up FW 9.1.0 =
install games that don't work or asking to be re-downloaded (as if patches or keys.dat were missing when they are installed)

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying
