contra rebirth is one of those games that requires neek2o.

interesting that they didn't work in usb loader gx either.

native channels on wiiflow require you to turn on the 'custom' setting. same for launching a forwarder on real nand via wiiflow - custom must be on.

Ok tried running Mii Channel on cios emunand with 'custom' ON. The same evil DSI error. Yup im convinced my wii is faulty in some way :P

I wonder if the problem has anything to do with wii2hdmi adapter im using. Also funny thing is my console sticker JPN region but original region is KOR changed to NTSC-U? :O

Anyway thanks for the help. Im satisfied with the setup for now. Wfl is very user friendly for me :yay:

So... After various testing i gave up on running emunand games with cios. I have to boot with neek2o everytime for ww & vc as it runs fine.

Tested a few more emunand games like Adventure Island, Burger Time WT, Contra Rebirth still with DSI error. Tested the games on real nand it runs fine. Reverted WFL to 5.2.0 same error. Created a fresh emunand via modmii doesnt help. Tried Hermes cios same error but it auto reboots. Tried running the games with usb loader gx completely black screen. Also i realized i cant even run native channels like Mii Channel on cios emunand.

whenever I tried cIOS emuNAND half of the games didn't seem to work. If you want good compatibility you will have to stick with neek2o I am afraid

WiiFlow v5.3.0 beta 14 - https://www.mediafire.com/file/8423epdi64zf3vq/wf5.3.0beta14.zip/file

Some of the changes:
- added 'back_tier' as a source menu button option. in case you would like to show a up or back arrow to return to previous tier.
- changed 'source menu on start' to always start on base tier.
- added source menu ini option to set flow layout number. under [general] add flow=#. this also applies to tiers.
- added Nintendont BBA emulation and Net Profile options to Game Settings.
- on Home Menu replaced Install button with Shutdown (power off) option which asks if Full Shutdown or Standby mode.
- blackb0x added TLS/SSL support. This allows for downloading from websites using secure HTTPS links. And fixes downloading Wii and GC cheats from geckocodes.org
- fixed messages when downloading cheats.
- fix for being able to select more than 10 categories.
- added prefer_usb option for Wii and GameCube games. when set to yes their partition will be set to USB if USB is connected otherwise set to SD. must manually edit wiiflow_lite ini for now.
- added selected images with light blue border for the different check boxes. thanks gingerbeardman matt! Images are in the imgs folder which must be updated as well. theme makers will need to update their themes to included new images for the selected check boxes.
- fix to keep check boxes selected when not using the pointer.
- removed the 'all plugins' option from source menu. no one used it and if you do need all plugins just use the 'Select Plugin' Menu.
- removed source menu multi source. with the new tiers and autoboot and other stuff it became too hard and complicated to code for source menu multi source. if you still want multi source use the 'Select Plugin' menu and add the wii, gc, channels, and homebrew plugins.
- on Home Menu replaced 'cache covers' with 'Settings' button, because it is automatically done after reload cache.
- Home Menu theme domain name changes:
[HOME/SETTINGS] is now [HOME/HELP]
[HOME/FTP] is now [HOME/SELECT_PLUGIN]
[HOME/ABOUT] is now [HOME/CREDITS]
[HOME/UPDATE] is now [HOME/SETTINGS]

What was “source menu multi source”? I know about being able to list multiple plugins’ magic numbers, separated by commas, in a source menu item as a way to list all their games together inside a single source, but I presume that’s not it, is it?

Is the rom names from database going to be included in the new release?
Possibly as a separate download. Like on the opening post.

Multisource showed the source menu but allowed you to select more than one button and click done when finished making choices. You had to turn it on in source menu settings.

@fledge68 thanks for this great update! I will soon test it and update my theme with the new features.
I'm also updating my patform.ini :
-added gameandwatch support (thanks @Danimalzpwn3 ),
-added several mame entries, to be used with Wiimpathy's alt cores for compatibility with many games.
-2 lynx entries -horizontal and vertical games, using 2 separate RA cores,
-turned Eduke32 and Prboom to DOS. They're source ports of Dos games, I see no use for them to have their own coverflow, with just a handful of games each. They're better in the PC coverflow. It's easier for the snapshots database too, not having to create two separate entries.
Platform.ini

Glad to hear that, not trying to be negative but in my opinion there is very little reason for that feature to exist and it will be mostly an annoyance
so you don't want a snapshot of the game to display when you select the game?

just so you know you will need platform.ini and coverflow default ini for wiiflow to display your coverflows correctly. I did include mine in the download.

Hi all. Im trying to run wiiware and virtual console games off my emunand on my sd card. It boot up with 'Dsi Exception Occurred' everytime. I have to restart my console after that. It boot up the games fine with neek2o though.

Im running d2x v10 r52 cios, slot 250 base 57 as default, extracted my own emunand via wiiflow and on 4.3u firmware. Games tested are World Of Goo and Super Mario 64. Solutions? It seems i have to rely on neek2o for now. Thanks.

Where did you set the EmuNand location at in WiiFlow? Is it reading the nands folder from the SD card or from a USB hard drive?

I have a nand for each type of game saved on the root of my Fat32 USB hard drive (1st partition, 2nd is Fat32 as well but its just file storage). I don't use neek2o itself, or boot with neek2o to load any of my VC or WiiWare games, they all just load and play from within WiiFlow, just like my Wii games do. I mean, I followed this guide initially https://gbatemp.net/threads/sneek-di-quick-guide.218725/
Scroll down to Build a NAND for use with SNEEK.

I used ModMii to build my nand. Then used ShowMiiMods to edit my own original nand backup (installed all the VC wads into my nand),and I just kind of mirrored what ModMii had essentially done onto a copy of my own original backup, saved it, then copied the files ModMii created for the SD card to the root of the SD card, copied the folders 'nands' and 'sneek' to the root of my USB drive, and then told WiiFlow where to look for my Emu NAND Partition, USB1.

Here's some quick snaps I took of WiiFlow

Seems you misunderstood my comment, I am talking about the fact that one of the betas had the feature of getting the rom names from the database (taking priority over the filename) imo it is kinda pointless because if you want your games to have a certain name, you just change the filename, or in the case of MAME, use customtitles.ini, but names from the database is quite strict and pretty much just forces you to use customtitles if you want a particular name, plus the database has some mistakes. As a whole I don't see its appeal

Mame games is the main reason i added it. Because im too lazy to make custom titles ini.

Guess i cant please everyone.

Well this thing already exists if this is all about MAME....
But anyway it's your choice and if you think it is for the best, go ahead

I have mixed feelings regarding database names too.
On one hand, I find it really better to have natural names like The Addams Family instead of Addams Family, The. And I find it weird to rename the roms.
The title is chosen according to what it appears on real boxes when possible.

On the other hand, as said there could mistakes in titles (some examples @MrSW ?). And again personnal preferences. So maybe as an option?

I'm also a bit concerned about categories. Since it's using the title instead of filename when found, there's no way to edit the categories on computer anymore(scripts etc.). I know it's complicated to implement genres from databases but could there be a way to at least dump games names from the lists @fledge68 ?

Edit
The attached file above seems unreadable. here's one : custom_titles.ini
re-edit
my bad stupid default txt reader here. But still, the file header is different.

Your points have been noted.
Ill make it optional or have custom titles override database titles.

Edit: i just checked. Custom titles do override database titles. But if its still a problem i can add yet another option to not use database titles.

I run my emunand games from my sd card. I use my usb drive for wii games only. I set all the locations correctly. I dont use multiple partitions on my storage devices. I dont use multiple emunands either. I try to keep my setup simple.

Your emunand setup sounds complicated lol. Its much easier to just use wiiflow to dump your own emunand and use modmii to create the neek2o files. Anyway i already tried creating emunand with modmii but still same problem. Im fine with running all my WW & VC games with neek2o as it has better compatibility anyway.
