  1. Still no
  2. A system initialize has not been proven to prevent bans and people have been banned even after performing them
  3. Incognito makes it impossible to use Nintendo's online services AKA a self-imposed ban. You cannot be banned while using it but restoring your PRODINFO opens you to getting banned. So Incognito does not really prevent bans, it only delays them
  4. The point is to never go online with CFW. It doesn't matter if it is emuMMC or sysMMC that you use CFW with. All that matters is whichever one you load CFW with stays offline. Whichever partition you go online with should be clean and by clean, I mean having never run CFW or homebrew
Thanks again. To surmise:

1 - I would like to have a clean stock boot. Will system initialise do this without affecting the CFW boot and data on it?
2 - Did installing incognito kinda make it worse for me as I always wanted to go online at some point in stock? And if i remove it it is detectable or flags to nintendo?
3 - I have never loaded CFW or homebrew on stock, just to update firmware to 9.0. So should be ok to go online (always a risk i know) following the above?

  1. No
  2. Not really, Incognito is similar to using Airplane Mode, 90DNS, or staying offline. However unlike the other options, since Incognito permanently modifies your console, you risk permanently banning yourself if you ever lose your PRODINFO. And its not that they would detect Incognito, they would detect you using CFW/homebrew
  3. Yes that should be fine

hopefully last few around this :D

1 - is there a way to remove them only from stock - i.e deleting them?
2 - how do they detect? - based on sig patches, etc and other bits to see. And would that be only if i loaded them? All my stuff is on the SD no installs to the system memory hence the changing of SD option

thanks again for all the support

  1. Well no since Stock is part of your console
  2. We do not entirely know how Nintendo bans people mostly because bans are random

I played super smash bros ultimate on a game cartridge on sysNAND, and now I can't use it anymore, what can I don to fix this?

In the atmosphere folder, find BCT.ini, open it with notepad and add "nogc = 0". Let's you play game cards, but as I understand it, it won't let you do so anymore on firmware below 9.0 should you decide to downgrade at any point.

My own question to anyone: Tinfoil on 9.0 launches, but button inputs don't do anything. As I understand, 9.0 broke the way some things work at that includes tinfoil's input. But now I'm trying desperately to find a way to install NSPs over USB. I can't figure out how to access it with Goldleaf, I've downloaded quark.jar but can't find anything on how to actually get it to open and run, and trying to install tinfoil 4.0.0 doesn't seem to work as it won't launch but I can't find any modconfig.ini file to edit. I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff so I'm sure I'm missing something.

What controller are you using?

Hi all,

my Switch is running 6.1.0 ReiNX. To inject payload in RCM mode I am still using ReiNX.bin 1.60.
Question: Is it recommended to update anything? Can I simply use the recent ReiNX.bin 2.4 as payload when I need to inject payload?

Reading more posts about current CFW development for Switch I noticed that almost everyone is telling to use Atmosphere (especially Kosmos) over ReiNX.
So I would like to update my Switch to a newer Firmware.

Should I stay with ReiNX and update to OFW 8.1.0
or
should I install Atmosphere or better Kosmos?

I would only recommend changing if you want to setup emuMMC or update to firmware 9.0. Otherwise, ReiNX on firmware 8.1 is very stable and can play all current games.

I'm brand new to Switch hacking, and I would like to look for an exploitable console. So I've understood that you want to avoid "patched" consoles, which you should be able to do by looking at the serial number. Does the firmware also matter? Let's say I find a second hand console that was bought in 2017 and updated to the latest firmware. Is this still exploitable?

Yes. Firmware doesn't matter for unpatched consoles.

which version is supported at the moment? (for hekate / etc)
haven't looked at the scene for a while.
9.X.

Whats up people!
I'm currently running 8.0.1 Atmosphere. I've got the issue where everytime I launch an application, I get the following message:

"Ready to start system update. The update will not take long. Update now?" (start software/upbdate/cancel)"

This is getting realllllly annoying, I know it's not a huge issue but I wanna remove it. Also I've seen the thread which suggests putting the switch in maintenance mode and I've tried this multiple times and it doesn't work. My stock OFW is 9.0.1 and I can't seem to remove the message no matter how many times I've tried. I can't find any other solutions online and was wondering if anyone had an info or solutions, because it's really frustrating!!!

Thanks in advanced :)
