So i was modding my 2ds trying to get custom firmware and I got to the part where you have to put your 2d/3ds to the oldest firmware and where it makes the screen all zoomed in and such but I couldn't get pass the next step because it kept messing up so like a dumbass I factory reset my 2ds and now I'm on the screen where it says to slide up the 3d slider but I have a 2ds, how can I bypass this would really appreciate help its been 2 years and I'm still trying

You used a horribly outdated guide. This is why you shouldn't follow video guides, there's no telling how outdated they may be and any time the methods change slightly an entirely new video needs to be made, which most people don't bother doing. Had you been using an up to date guide, you would not have needed to downgrade, and the newer methods are much safer.
The only guide you should be using nowadays is http://3ds.hacks.guide as it's the most up to date.
You're either going to need a copy of Cubic Ninja and the tool mentioned by @Chary, or a ntrboot compatible DS flashcart (a full list can be found here: https://3ds.hacks.guide/ntrboot )

You are right about this. A9LH is horribly outdated. But… if it happened two years ago this is not as bad as it sounds:

@Wesleyy: If you do not already have a ntrboot compatible cart, I recommend getting the R4i Gold 3DS Plus. Should be cheaper than Cubic Ninja and is much more useful than that game.

It's not even the newest method of installing A9LH, that method must have been outdated for something like 5 years now.

Mine is compatible if i read correctly, How do I install ntrboot do I need a second 3ds?
That's good news!

You need any other (2|3)DS(i)(XL) system that is able to do the flashing (is able to start .NDS files from the flashcart)
On the https://3ds.hacks.guide/ntrboot page are all options.

DS is best as it will be compatible with more cards but yep you should be able to use any of the three kinds.

i downloaded all the necessary files but when i boot it up on the ds it just has a red error message, how do i flash it?

You'll need to find firmware files for your flashcart that will let it run DS games, then you'll be able to run the nds file that flashes it.

so basically just download the updated firmware of the cart to it and then boot it and that flashes it ?

No, you just need the kernel files and the ntrboot flasher. And make sure the card is FAT32 formatted.

hey so ive gotten to the bootstrap install and ive got to the spot where all the bootstrap files and boot files are on the sd card but the thing is this sd card doesnt have the DCIM folder and 3ds folder is this ok ?
