PC release for Red Dead Redemption 2 possibly hinted at in Social Club app code

RD2.jpg

After months of speculation and assumptions, we finally have some hard evidence that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be making its way over to PC soon. Twitter user 'JakoMako51' and others have found references to RDR2's PC port buried within the code of Rockstar's Social Club app. It's still unclear whether it will be exclusive to any one launcher-storefront, or perhaps even exclusive to Rockstar's own Social Club. There's also no mention of a release date to be found here, but for now, holdouts waiting for higher frame rates and more detailed graphics settings will just have to take solace knowing that the game is indeed coming to their platform of choice.

Enjoy that denuvo, bad performance due to bad port like gta 4, four other drm solutions, and always online drm.
Um.. You ever play GTA V on PC? I'm going to assume no? Otherwise you wouldn't have wasted time with this nonsense?

as soon as PC version exists, hackers will just take 1 day to crack DENUVO down, meanwhile enjoy RDR2 on consoles at 30fps with 3 min loading time, WE HAVE SSD!

EDIT: enjoy ur online behind $ony/m$' Great Paywall
Edit2: enjoy consoles' assisted aim, we have mouse for that lul

Denuvo intensifies
I'd have hoped at this point they Denuvo would be a meme in the gaming industry. It doesn't work. It's been proven to degrade performance and is now cracked in record time with each new release.

Occasionally though? A decent amount of stuff remains uncracked, and cracked versions often suffer from issues on various machines, so it's far from "not working" - quite the opposite, it was proven to secure week-one sales with consistent success, which is why publishers stuck with it despite bad reputation and performance issues (take of that what you will).

To be fair, performance wasn't the greatest when GTA V first released on PC, but it wasn't terrible either. After some patching it's now pretty easy to make it look better and perform better than its console counterparts, even on mid-to-low end gaming rigs.

Even on release it performed significantly better than GTA IV ever did. Totally misunderstood your response, but i'm leaving it. :rofl2:

"Secure week one sales" without any factual proof. Maybe when Denuvo was new and games weren't cracked within 24 hours of release? The simple fact is that piracy does not affect long term (or even short term) sales or the industry in the way that developers and publishers would have you believe.

As far as "cracked versions often suffering from issues" I've yet to see where this holds up today. Maybe with SecuROM and StarForce? MAYBE... Denuvo? No.

ps5 is ps4 backward compatible, means R* can potentially save multimillion dollars to make ps5 port, all they need is just a enhancement patch similar to the one for PS4 PRO.

dunno if X scarlet has X1's backward compatibility tho.
Im pretty sure the Scarlett is backwards compatible with all Xbox's

No No No No
This is all wrong
It takes more than one day on average for a crack release so don't claim that
