Australian Classification Board rating sees Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port rumors go wild once more

Everyone's favorite reveal-spoiler machine, the Australian Classification Board, known for inadvertently leaking the announcements of localizations and releases of games like Persona Q2, Taiko Drum 'N Fun, and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD, has a new rating to get gamers all worked up over. A new rating for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been spotted, having been filed on August 20, 2019, almost an entire year after the release of the game, back in October 2018. The new classification doesn't have any changes to the original--still being rated MA 15+ for sale in Australia, though amusingly, it was refused a rating before being a re-submission and then approval--except for one: the lack of listing any platforms for the game.

This also occurs at a rather interesting time; Rockstar just released its own launcher for PC, causing rumors to go wild with anticipation of a possible Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port, which could be exclusive to their new launcher. This isn't the first time that hints of a potential PC port of the game have cropped up; prior to the console release of RDR2, Linkedin profiles for programmers at Rockstar had noted that they had prior experience working at the company, on a PC port for Red Dead Redemption 2. So far, nothing has ever come from these rumors and little tidbits of information, but it still is quite notable that Rockstar has decided on re-registering the game's rating, and specifically omitting the platform. Regardless, this by no means confirms anything, but merely adds more fuel to the rumor fire.

Lol rockstar can't even stop cheaters in gta v mp. I doubt drm launchers can stop people from modding rdr2 eventually.
That's why I'm hoping that the DRM for the launcher was cracked already, and whoever did it is waiting for RDR2 to come out first to bamboozle Rockstar, lol.

I don't use anything that uses Steam. I'm certainly not going to install a launcher from Rockstar either. Too bad. There's no doubt the experience will be superior to anything any of the consoles could ever deliver. PC games area always better, providing you have the right CPU/GPU.

I wonder if this game, when released on PCs, can run on Linux distros via Proton, the Wine-based software primarily developed by Valve that enables a growing amount of Windows-only games to run on that family of operating systems. I better hope that there won't be intrusive DRM that could hurt this game's potential rating on https://www.protondb.com/.
