Atmosphère 0.9.1 released, adds 8.1.0 support

atmosphere-png.162000

A quick update has been released for @SciresM 's Switch CFW, Atmosphère, bumping the version up to 0.9.1. Support for the latest available OFW (8.1.0) has been added and a few emuMMC-related bugs have been fixed. This, however, is not the general bugfix release the devs were talking about previously, so emuMMC should still be considered experimental for the time being.

The official changelog can be read below:
Changelog said:
0.9.1 is Atmosphère's nineteenth official release.

fusee-primary was last updated in: 0.9.1.

With thanks to the @switchbrew team, Atmosphère 0.9.1 is bundled with hbl 2.1, and hbmenu 3.0.1.

The following was changed since the last release:

  • Support was added for 8.1.0.
  • Please note, emummc is still considered beta/experimental -- this is not the inevitable bugfix update for it, although some number of bugs have been fixed. :)
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
For information on the featureset supported by 0.9.0, please see the official release notes.

On a last note, fusee-primary has also been changed with this version. Remember to update it too if you're using it!

UPDATE: If you were not being able to boot with this release, re-download it from the repo. A bug has been fixed which caused the system to hang if there was no emummc.ini file present on the microSD card.

Boot problems seems related with updates through ChoiDujourNX, so probably not related with a Atmosphére, users that update through oficial way (Settings menu > Console > Check for updates) we don't have any problem.

Probably @rajkosto need to update his homebrew for support the changes on 8.1.0
That, or folks aren't using ChoiNX v1.0.2 and updating with a write protected package2.
I remember making that mistake when going from 7.0.0 to 8.0.1 a ways back.

I can't test it myself because I can't found the 8.1.0 firmware, I just updated through settings and all are working fine, now I downgraded again to test it but can't found the package for choi >.<

I hear it's floating around in some places.
Alternatively you could grab it from your own switch/Nand dump when it's on 8.1.0 or has the update pending with HacDiskMount.

You still need to acquire the folders containing firmware content somehow, some of the options are:

- Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents/registered folder from another Switch that is running the firmware version you want.

Or

- Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents folder from a Switch that has a "System update is pending" notification. This will let you pick either the currently running firmware, or the pending firmware to install.

Didn't know that trick, a lot of thanks ^^

I gona try to update my downgraded emunand through Choi, for now I can't reproduce the boot issue, Atmos run fine on 8.1.0 and 8.0.1 for me, but I update through settings.

SX, Atmosphere, I don't care. And neither would you. The objective is to enjoy the console to the maximum.

Thanks to all the devs.

Yeah, it's fun to switch over SX Emunand and Atmosphere EmuMMC just a click to reboot to payload homebrew. Take advantage of benefits both worlds.

For those with Black screens:

Delete folder

Atmosphere/titles/0100000000000352

If you have emuiibo installed, Atmosphere 8.1.0 fails to boot.

If you are stuck on a black screen when booting, a hotfix has been released which should fix your issue. Re-download Atmosphère from the repo.
