I upgraded my switch to 8.x using choirdoirNx and selected everything correctly but now my switch won't boot up past the Nintendo Logo. Goes Black screen and gives me an error message. System is not bricked i can load OFW fine just not CFW. So this means it had something to do with the upgraded files i used maybe not the right ones. Or maybe, I did forgot to disable RCM Mode before I updated which could also be the cause. So I have a nand backup already my question is how do I perform the back up using XS OS and do I have to do the NAND Restore or is there another method I could use to restore my system?
Did you choose the exfat option when upgrading? That is the usual culprit of this symptom.
There should be two hundred and thirteen NCA files (or individual folders each containing a single NCA file) in the upgrade archive. if there is less than 213 then it is likely missing the exfat option

sorry I was on 7.x CFW XS OS 2.7. Yes I upgraded the XS OS first to 2.7 then I ran ChoirDoirNx for Exfat. Only thing I didn't do was not disable Auto RCM before doing the update so I'm thinking that had something to do with it.

Yup check the # files its 213 exactly. I definitely choose Exfat for sure but I didn't diable Auto RCM and I was already on Auto RCM. I heard that could mess it up where you have issues like this if you don't disable first then upgrade and keep Auto RCM.
if you have crashed the custom theme, you will not be allowed to boot your NS
So delete my custom theme and try??

. So does this mean that we can't add custome themes or that we just have to reinstall them?
uninstall the custom theme first, then follow by original firmware update.
War, i have a question regarding the update.
When you started the update the option Prevent fuse burning (enable AutoRcm) you keep it on or you deactivate it ?
I mean after updating the system you directed booted into the Autorcm ( or you used jig and payload injector) ??

You keep it on when you want to prevent fuse burning. So you can easily downgrade later on if you want to. Yes, your switch will automatically boot in RCM without a jig.

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
