Not wanting to be left out of the retro gaming hype, Capcom has announced that it'll soon bring to the market its own console packed with retro games. Named the 'Capcom Home Arcade' and shaped in the form of the company's logo which is... basically colored alphabets of the company's name, this 22 x 74 x 11 cm nostalgia-oriented, plug-and-play device comes with 16 of "the best Capcom titles from the golden-age of arcade gaming". As its name implies, it will boast arcade-styled features like a pair of "competition class" arcade styled control sticks and face buttons for two players.

The company also notes that the 16 pre-installed games are from the original Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade ROMs with emulation provided by FB Alpha, which Capcom certifies as "delivering an authentic & accurate arcade experience".
Speaking of games, here's the full list:
  • 1944: The Loop Master
  • Alien Vs. Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
  • Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
  • Eco Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls ’N Ghosts
  • Gigawing
  • Mega Man: The Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

Featuring a USB port for power and HDMI one for display, the Capcom Home Arcade also has onboard WiFi to share your single or co-op multi player scores to the Worldwide High Score Leaderboard to see how you match up against other players across the globe.

Capcom has announced that its Capcom Home Arcade will be available from all major gaming retailers from 25 October 2019 in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and Russia. Pre-orders are also live from Amazon UK at £200.

I have seen these capcom shaped devices on a few ChinaHeld sites. Been for sell to the US for sometime. I’m shocked they are actually made by capcom!

Just build a DIY arcade machine with an old office PC. It probably won't cost any more than that thing does, and you can load your own roms and emulators onto it.
People who wil normally buy these things don't care about cost it's a console for ther collection and end of the day thers nothing better than having the real thing

This isn't the "real thing" though, it's just an arcade stick with 16 roms built in. Unless you're a hardcore Capcom fan or you collect absolutely everything released by every gaming company, I doubt collectors are gonna care much about this.

Get one of the better emulator sticks off of eBay.

I’ll stick to my CMVS system and Supergun CPS2 setup.

The SNES mini and the 8bitdo arcade sticks are a more compact and practical alternative also. :)

Well, we should be used to the cycle by now. Nintendo releases a thing, it sells like crazy. Everybody else does a half-assed job of trying to copy that thing, nobody buys it. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until Sony tries selling cardboard that you can attach to your PS4.

what the hell man, they couldn't have just beefed up the capcom beat em up collection and just made it an arcade collection?

and they wonder why we use emulators and roms.

The marketing team who came up with this should be fired.

-It's a years too late to the scene
-16 games (Half being CPS1) is too pitiful, especially for the 200+ euro price
-The design is hideous, and will be uncomfortable for the 2nd player if they rest their wrists
-It never mentioned netplay (only useless leaderboards)

Just get a $150 pandora box dual control stick, and flood your senses with 1,500+ games.

Wow, 200 Euros for an emulator and 16 games?? What a deal!
I mean, a decent arcade stick/buttons is fairly expensive, but not that fuckin' expensive.

And for god's sake, if you're gonna charge $200 and make it that ugly, you gotta include a lot more than 16 Capcom games.

Wtf its 200, I was expecting 50ish and didnt want it for that....

Can it be used as a fighting stick for other games at least? And if it can is it missing anything?
I'm sure it can, and it seems fairly complete. I guess they had to make it $200 if it includes two sticks and sets of buttons, but still gonna be really iffy for consumers when that's about the cost of a current-gen game console (used/refurb).
