This sounds like a hardware issue. I'm not sure what exactly the issue is but I think you should make a thread asking for an expert's opinion.

  1. Yes but the chances of that happening are close to 0
  2. For starters, you don't install CFW to the Switch. Also you do not get banned if you stay offline but staying offline acts like a self-imposed ban. When you return online, you may or may not get banned
  3. The only way to go online safely is with a clean hack-free NAND backup which you can make with Hekate before using any CFW/homebrew. Hekate is neither a CFW or homebrew; it is a payload that acts as a bootloader
  4. Some games require a linked Nintendo Account. You also cannot play any games online unless you own them meaning pirated copies are stuck offline. You can play all other games that don't fall into the previous categories
  5. If by LAN, you mean local wireless then yes. Smash doesn't actually support LAN. You can update Smash while running CFW
  6. No
  7. https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/
  8. This will depend on what CFW you want to use and there are multiple available CFW, 3 in fact; ReiNX, SX OS, and Atmosphere. I will link guides to each below. They all accomplish the same goals of launching homebrew, game backups, and modding with a few minor differences here and there.
Try restoring your NAND with Hekate as it not only provides verification but can output more legible error codes.
I did it worked . now I have an issue that when the switch is in auto RCM mode it doesnt boot into original FW from the SX OS menu , and when I turn it off and use the Jig nothing changes . only when I boot it normally without the AutoRCM and wihtout the jig it boots into original fw !!! ?> is there a way to fix it !?

This is normal. Once your license has been activated, SX OS automatically boots into CFW when you send SX Loader/plug in the SX Pro dongle. If you want to boot OFW, you would have to turn on the console normally meaning no jig or AutoRCM. If you want to boot SX OS OFW, you would have to choose the OFW option from the SX OS Menu which you get to by holding volume + when sending SX Loader/plugging in the SX Pro dongle. By the way this is all explained in their manual, specifically page 10: https://sx.xecuter.com/download/manuals/sxos/[EN]_SXOS_v1.3.pdf

any ideas why it says no main configurations found on my switch when I click launch?
If you downloaded Hekate from the GitHub page, it doesn't have any configurations since it is just the bootloader by itself. Kosmos comes with sample configurations. If you downloaded Kosmos and its showing you that, you may not have copied everything to your SD card in which case copy everything onto your SD card except the hekate.bin file.

I'm about to be ready and mod my Switch.

I'm on FW 4.0.1 it's still clean, and never connected to the internet.
What are the things I can do to backup and dump keys and stuff?
Hekate to backup my sysNAND, boot 0,1, prodinfo?
Lockpick to dump some keys.

Is there anything else I can do or missed, I want to backup and dump as much as I can while on this untouched Switch before I get started. Just in case.

Also, one more question about the eMMC chips.
I remember there being a actual eMMC Chip ID, I can't find it back here:
http://pascoe.pw/2018/09/switchnand.html
But to my memory, you could also back this up and write this to the new eMMC chip, if you didn't actually HAVE to do this to begin with..
I might be blind and be missing that part in the article I linked, but yes, I'd like to have a go at swapping my eMMC module board out and have physical dual NAND that way. :)

Can anyone help me figure out why this keeps happening, this just recently started.

When I put my Switch in Sleep Mode, my Switch automatically comes back on and says “Your Game Card Has Been Removed”. So it closes my game down and I lose my save spot.

Thanks

Thank you so much for replying, So using CFW doesn't mean an instant console ban as long as I have a hack-free NAND back up before using homebrbrew! More questions if you don't mind

1. My switch has the latest update, can I get CFW to work on 7.0.1 without any problems! are CFW compatible with OFW 7.0.1! Also I've read that 6.2 is more stable. Will downgrading is possible?

2. What is .xci and why for example REINX doesn't support it yet? And does almost all games have this type of .xci extension? and If yes that means Reinx is not the proper CFW choice to use?

3. What is the go to CFW for the newbies? I understand all accomplish the same purpose but is one easier to manage?

4. Formatting SD card to FAT32 will limit the size of files that can be stored. Does all games size is less than 4GB? Also does it really matter if the SD card is micro or ultra micro? are both compatible?

I followed the sdsetup guide to the t but all it says is move you sd files to the root of you sd card. so Nintendo> what exactly? its not specific on where they should go. just inside nintedo? also I looked through my sd files and don't see a Hekate.bin

  1. Atmosphere is currently the only CFW to support firmware 7.X. Downgrading is indeed possible however if you are already on firmware 7.X then that means you will have burnt fuses. Fuses are supposed to prevent downgrading but all bootloaders (payloads that boot CFW) bypass the fuse check making downgrading possible. I should also mention that while downgrading is possible this way, its not useful for future exploits since sending a payload is an exploit in of itself. Only downgrade with burnt fuses if CFW is not supported or stable on your current firmware
  2. .XCI files are copies of Nintendo Switch cartridges as files. ReiNX technically supports them but you have to install your .XCI files with a homebrew application such as ZeroTwoXCI, dOPUS, or n1dus. Not all games are available as .XCI however. Some games are digital which are usually provided in the .NSP format. ReiNX of course supports these as well
  3. For newbies, ReiNX is in my opinion the best as it requires nothing additional to work and is free. However if you are already on firmware 7.X which ReiNX doesn't support yet, then your only option is to use Atmosphere as explained in my first point. But as also explained in my first point, you can use Atmosphere to downgrade to a firmware that ReiNX supports such as 6.2 then switch to ReiNX. You must use AutoRCM however since you will have burnt your fuses but the primary tool for downgrading automatically enables AutoRCM whenever it changes your firmware
  4. Not all games are smaller than 4 GB but there are numerous workarounds for the 4 GB file-size such as splitting the files, USB install, and network install. Also it doesn't matter if the SD card is micro or ultra; they are both supported

I followed the sdsetup guide to the t but all it says is move you sd files to the root of you sd card. so Nintendo> what exactly? its not specific on where they should go. just inside nintedo? also I looked through my sd files and don't see a Hekate.bin
Do you understand what "root" is referring to?

Ok so I am sure this has been asked before but this is a big thread.

All I want to be able to do is put all my games on an sd card. This way I dont have to constantly change game cartridges when I want to switch games. Yes I am lazy.

So is this something I can do with atmosphere?

Ok guys I have successfully got atmosphere on my switch via sdsetupe guide that was suggested. Which application can allow me to put botw saves on my sd card and then back onto the console. Mainly so I can edit the save.
Sorry I'm such a noob

Well SX OS itself is free however certain features are locked behind a paywall, features that most people would find useful namely piracy. Other CFW have the same, if not similar, features for free.

Since I found a smash texture hack that I want to install I was curious to know a few things...

Can you install smash hacks with homebrew, or just with CFW?

And for the cfw, is there a SAFE method that will not get you banned even if you mod smash a little bit?

You need homebrew. To run homebrew applications you need CFW (at least it‘s the common way). If you go online with mods you will get banned sooner or later.
