Hi guys.

A quick questions (n00b here).

I've just managed to get my hands on a new Switch with fw 6.2.0.

At this stage what is the best option for me to load Homebrew etc?

Just trying to make sense of all of the recent updates.

Cheers.

check if its hackable or not via serial number thread
if its hackable then you can follow nevercholt tech tutorials on youtube
MAKE A NAND BACKUP AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO HEKATE
I suggest not to update to 7.0
Use atmosphere

Hi all I have another noob question...

Is there anyway to boot into CFW if I power off and remove the microSD card?

Reason I ask is I have to copy some NSP onto the card, and that requires me to power the Switch off. However everytime I put the card back in and power it on it loses the auto boot to CFW setting meaning that I have to boot into RCM and inject.

Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks.

If you fully turn off your switch, you need to go to RCM and inject the payload again. There is no way around.

Thanks for your reply.

So I guess the question is is it recommended to turn switch off before removing and reinserting the SD? Or it really doesn't matter?

if you only want to transfer nsp to install them the you can use goldtree and goldleaf for usb installs

I am on 7.0.1 and Goldleaf 0.4 and 0.3 are both extremely buggy and won't install the game most of the times...

I am now using Nightly 0.5 installing from SD and it proves to be half decent.

It's ok, just a slight annoyance I guess booting into RCM again after copying NSP, still works and all....

Don't follow the youtube tutorials they are out of date the moment they come out. Follow the text guides

You can take the micro SD card in and out while it's in RCM

downgrade to 6.2 using choidujourNX. 6.2 is much more stable and all install methods just work

i donno downgrading because Ive seen way too many thread pop up of people who messed that up

Gotta say, im sometimes stupid as fuck, i got rid of my old switch, bought a new one and fucked up (AGAIN) at the 90nds part, i was on cfw without having started anything and those 10 seconds were enough to trigger a firmware download, the only logs i had on the system at the time were standard system errors - now im afraid as fuck that i accidentally (AGAIN) might have triggered a console ban - LOL.
Yes i know, normally i would say "so fucking what?" since i only use the system offline, but it fucks with my plan to revert back to the original NAND should i decide to sell the system one day and wanting to keep the Switch non-banned.
Im really tempted to just revert the nand and update the system officially to find that out, fucking OCD.

You would get ban for going online with CFW, so it is not like it is avoidable.
