Time for me to get triggered on: :creep:
Can I use a Wii U as an optical drive so I can play Wii games (w/ Ishiiruka, the superior version of Dolphin) straight from the disc drive?
Taking out the Wii U's optical drive and plugging it into a PC somehow works too.

I can then probs read and write to the disc, and that's when things get funky with modding and dumping and piracy galore

Even an external hard drive formatted to Wii U can't be seen at all by a PC and vice versa, so no. Never gonna happen.

Even if I could only get funky with Wii games...

What are you even talking about?

You linked a gui program that allows transfering between Wii (not Wii U) to and from the PC. Why I have no idea.

WBFSGUI is supposed to read WBFS-formatted drives, right?

It says right on the first line

wbfsGUI
is a small GUI I made to make it easier to manage game transfer from and to the Wii on a USB drive or SD card using WBFS as file system.

Transfering files, not to play them, and that's for wbfs which is Wii/vWii not Wii U. If your hard drive is formatted for Wii U the PC can't read it.

What are you trying to do exactly? If it's use a Wii U formatted hdd on PC it'll never happen.
