Not something I would do. If you get 3v into the 1.8v side, you could cause more damage. However, we used to do that when we had a broken cable underneath a field. Inject 1.5kv into the cable... Bang wherever the short was. And probably a dead cow.Yeah the 3v3 rail is where ive got the short on, I've removed M92T36 and PI3USB but short is still present.
Does the PMIC provide this power rail?
I've been looking for a datasheet on the PMIC but not had any luck.
Is it OK to inject 3v3 into this rail to see if i can find anything with heat?
So you have continuity between 3v and gnd? Remove emmc befoew you do anything. But like I say, you may smoke some 1.8v level stuff. Impossible to know.
