TX Presents SX OS v2.4.1 BETA

Only a few days later and here we are with SX OS v2.4.1 from TX.
SX_241.jpg

The release of SX OS v2.4 BETA a few days ago, was very successful, but there was a 'few minor' bugs in it, and Team-Xecuter as usual was quick to listen to feedback and they have now just release v2.4.1 BETA which fixes those minor issues, but that is not all if you read thru the changelog below, you will noticed they have added some cool new functions for all to enjoy, so check it out now! :)
Hot on the heels of our 2.4 beta release!

We are happy to bring you a small update which fixes some outstanding bugs and introduces some new functionality.
  • Fixed payload menu freeze
It was reported that since v2.4 the "payload" menu used for launching external payloads was freezing up. This has been fixed, you can now enjoy your external payloads again!
  • Fixed installer incompatibility with recent NSP files
Some recent NSP content (like the Super Smash Bros update) wasn't installable using our NSP installer. All your recent NSP's will work now!
  • Firmware 4.1 booting again
A small regression got introduced in SX OS v2.4 leaving users with a (emunand) firmware on 4.1 unable to boot. We wasted no time to figure out the root cause, and SX OS should now be compatible with every firmware version again!
  • White squares on split XCI files
Some split XCI content was not showing the icons properly, instead rendering a white rectangle. This is a thing of the past now!
  • Add support for split NSP files
We've had support for splitting XCI content for a while now. This is needed for bigger games for people who enjoy SX OS from a FAT32 formatted microSD card. NSP content is now also supported in a split format. The file extensions used should be in the format of: .ns0, .ns1, .ns2, etc.
That's it for this small stopgap release. Keep an eye out for our coming updates!

(As usual, please remember all our latest releases & apps, can be found on our sx.xecuter.com portal website)

Is it still the case that NSPs installed with SX OS are flagged as corrupted (although they seem to work) or has this been fixed by theit new SX Installer?

If I'm not wrong, this is a new countermeasure added in 6.x firmware and should be the same with any other cfw. I think that shouldn't be easy to fix and haven't lot of attention since they still work fine

I honestly never thought that there's so many grandpas from WWII still playing games up to this day and also really good at modding closed-source software!!!

another Manc who remembers the golden days of the MGH and Superwild card ;), but I'll admit to going back to the dinosaur days of the ZX81 and Commodore PET :O

Fantastic, as splitting NSPs using the previous method doesn't work wholly on OSX since the Switch won't recognize Fat32 folders created by OSX (has to be done in Windows with the 'archive' flag set). This removes the need.

But how? You still need to get the NSP file onto the Fat32 SD, right? And for this it needs to be split with this python tool beforehand..

The support is non existing. Plus no license transfer to another console it's ridiculous.

It's not that uncommon in PC software land (especially for server or workstation level software) - you buy a licence and it is licenced (usually using MAC address as the machine unique identifier) SOLELY to that PC. Eg: Pinnacle Video Editor.

I'm not old enough for WWII, but I did build my first computer in the 70s (only had LED output.. no tv display), had ZX80 -> C64 -> BBC -> ZX Spectrum -> Atari 400 -> Amiga 500 -> Amiga 1200 -> 286 and then all PC from there.

The 80s were awesome.

EDIT: oh.. has anyone tried GRIS yet? does it work under SX OS 2.41 beta? thank you.

Haha! The 80s were more my teen / early adult years but the 70s has some great rock music.

Noice!! the Jupiter Ace was a Fortran based PC from memory wasn't it? I remember it was different as it didn't have BASIC. I had a few other computers during those days as well.. a VZ200 (Creativision rebadge here in Australia) and a Mattel Aquarius (yeah.. not a great computer per-se).

I have the version of pong with the paddles that must have been from 1976 (i think?) Found it the other day in my parents attic. Not tried it but I bet it would still work!

3 months and counting, no bans :P the first time I got banned for lack of information. This time it wont happen.
You're right. I've changed my stance on this. If the switch is hackable by all means hack it. No sense keeping a hackable switch legit. If in the future i want to play online I'll just buy one of the new mariko switches to play legit.
