After being available for over a year on PCs and Xbox One, battle royale game PUBG makes its way to the PS4 today! To compliment the release, a new live action trailer directed by none other than Jordan Vogt-Robets, director of Kong: Skull Island and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie, has been released:

PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) is an action-packed battle royale experience that drops 100 combatants onto a range of diverse locales. Starting with nothing but their wits, players must locate weapons, supplies and vehicles in a tense battle to outmanoeuvre opponents to become the last player, or squad standing.

“As of today, PUBG is open to PlayStation 4’s tens of millions of players, which is an important milestone for our global team,” said Richard Kwon, CMO, PUBG Corp, in a press release. “In addition to experiencing our game for the first time, the PlayStation community can also look forward to upcoming content, such as our new map Vikendi.”

Upon release the PS4 version of PUBG comes complete with the full line-up of iconic maps at launch: Erangel, Miramar and Sanhok, with Vikendi following soon. Additionally, players can join in on the launch festivities by logging into the game to receive an exclusive PS4 “Pixel Art” parachute skin. Moreover, the game is enhanced for PlayStation 4 Pro systems, allowing for some performance improvements and increased graphical fidelity.

Announced at The Game Awards 2018, the snowbound “Vikendi” map is out now on PC Test Servers and will be available for consoles in January.

PUBG is available on the PlayStation Store starting at £24.99.

It's like the only version available on Xbox so would guess that's the official.

I used to play PUBG on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and it was awesome with k/m but found it very intrusive.

There's no news about a release date or if it is even in production. But Vogt-Roberts is definitely working on it and even released some concept arts for the movie for the 31st anniversary of Metal Gear and even got some of the original cast to send an original message to fans.
