Since old wii homebrew emulators have been updated to use gamepad, I just continue to use them. They work well, and unless you playing playstation, n64 or gba, hardly any performance issues. Genesis plus gx is still probably the best emulator for accuracy, compatibility and just quality polish. :)

Do they work better than retroarch ? Do they install on wii u side or vwii?

"WII" homebrew emulators work well for what I been using of it. Don't expect something amazing since it's just a wii emulator. If you want a better performance emulator, I suppose retroarch is what you will be using (Since it's the only option on wii u with no hope of any other in sight)

The wii emulators like FECU/Snes9x/vba GX and genesis plus gx work well. I gotten used to using them by now and is great that i can use it with the gamepad or wii u pro controller cause of recent updates. But is just using the vwii system to work.

You can use retroarch if you like, is not bad either and it doesn't use vwii to work so it's probably recommended. I just like how these work, I gotten used to using it, it's easy to setup and the menus looks nice. :)

I don't know which runs best, since retroarch from my knowledge is in beta for wii u and I don't use it, but the fact that it's running not using vwii I assume would be the better emulator for performance. But I never once had a problem with vwii and been using those emulators it way before retroarch came to wii u. They also have been updating the emulators for wii u controller compatibility and other performance enhancements. I just used the safer option over the other.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but would it be possible to use Wii VC injections to play individual Genesis/Master System games on the Wii U home menu? I've seen some videos on Youtube, where what I'm asking for seems to be possible via Retroarch for both GBC and Genesis games, but there aren't clear instructions on how to do so. I would really like to boot up games like Phantasy Star IV directly from my Wii U home menu like I would any other VC game.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
