First post here.

I've been reading all 6.2.0 Update posts but none has exactly my case.

I had SXOS 2.0.1 with 6.1.0 for like 2 weeks. Only played .xci and .nsp backups, airplane mode all the time. Decided to go back to OFW 2 days ago. Restored a 6.1.0 NAND backup done through SXOS bootloader options BEFORE installing or running any CFW (so it was definitely clean). Online worked fine for this 2 last days. This morning got a 6.2.0 update request and now I get "This Nintendo account cannot be used at this time, this user can't use online features" when trying to access e-shop or add new Nintendo account. Later inspection on error history found code "2154-2005" that doesn't appear in Nintendo's error logs. Technical support for Nintendo on the phone said to try connecting and disconnecting wifi, deleting it and adding it again, try other internet connections etc. None worked. I'm now being told to send it in to check.

Any solutions, further info about this error and why it happened. I'm pretty sure I did all the possible to avoid any "known" ban (No internet on CFW, OFW NAND backup and restore)

UPDATE 11-21-18: It seems all that all was needed was a Factory Settings Reset. Picture of proof now a Nintendo Account can be added. For the record, for "This Nintendo account cannot be used at this time, this user can't use online features" message and error code "2154-2005" after 6.2.0 update should be solved with a factory reset.

There is no way to avoid a "known" ban if you do ANYTHING cfw related. This has been hammered over and over again for the past year.

There are users that claim all sorts of things about restoring "clean" firmware, cleaning telemetry yadda yadda yadda and yet... people still get banned.

That's why the ONLY "known" way to avoid a ban is to have a second switch that you never do any homebrewing on. Period.

Personally I feel that all these so called methods for avoiding a ban are just people that havent been banned yet. But they will eventually. You have to accept that risk once you start hacking.

Also, I'd be wary of sending your switch to Nin. Users have reported getting back ipatched units.

just throwing it out there... you did a nand back up on sxos? isn't that already a dirty nand at that point...? you needed to do a nand backup at the bootloader side before you enter and dirty the nand =/

I followed SXOS PDF on how to do it. Just RCM JIG with boot.dat in the sd, 3 Option menu appeared, went to options, nand and backup nand to sd

SX OS also has a bootloader prior to loading the OFW. You can't create a NAND backup if you've already loaded up the firmware.

You should have done this to do a full nand backup: https://gbatemp.net/threads/backup-...-your-biskeys-tseckeys-keys-txt-guide.513386/

SX OS/Pro has be proven to not be so well done and anything related to NAND are dangerous in various ways.

Not to say that in order for your SX OS Menu appear, you had to load the CFW first, so, you made a dirty NAND backup.

That's why you got banned.

If you had followed that guide i showed you in this my comment, you could see that no CFW is loaded in order for the NAND be fully backed up without triggering anything into Switch's Telemetry Log file(s).

Now you'll need to buy a new switch and use another account if you got any kind of ban, since in all them, at least, the used nintendo account is gone.

Sad for you, bro.

Thank you so much for your answer and explanation. Luckily enough not mine but a friend's... the thing is I got my NAND Backup the same way... Well, then i suppose its CFW only forever.

BTW, With SXOS Menu I meant BootLoader

I personally don't trust airplane mode. I just delete wifi settings when I'm done using OFW. Call me crazy but i've done alot more than you on both of my switches and none are banned yet.

You can only create backups in SX OS's bootloader, not from the CFW itself. It would be impossible to create a backup when the CFW is loaded. You'd be backing up live files and folders that can be subject to changes, as the system is running. Hence he didn't create a backup in the CFW, as that option is not available in SX OS.

If you used SX OS to make the backup..it's the reason why you got banned.

Sadly, the only good thing of SX OS/Pro is xci cartridge emulation, everything else is stolen or copied from open-source apps.

I always advice to use SX OS/Pro only for this xci stuff, nothing else.

That's right, backup was made PRIOR to loading any SXOS custom firmware but bootloader menu.

Wait, so if the NAND backup he restored had only SX-OS traces in it and he still got banned after the 6.2 update, does this mean that now on 6.2 even only the base usage of SX OS causes the ban?
That's what I was also willing to know, what has Nintendo done to know. Error code 2154-2005 still is not in nintendo error list

I've been using SX OS since June, and I have not been banned. If used correctly you won't be banned. It sounds like his mistake was installing NSP's. That, or going online. I've created a backup using SX OS 2.0.1 last tuesday (the 13th), to play Pokemon let's go, Eevee early. I restored the backup using SX OS last friday (16th), after I purchased the game, to play it online legitimately. You are just talking smack, without anything to back up your statements. More people have been banned on ReiNX and Atmosphere, than those that have been banned using SX OS. That's the truth. Go check the pinned ban thread in this subforum. So far from what I'm seeing, people are only getting banned on SX OS for installing NSP's, going online with pirated games, or booting up homebrew.

So, if he deletes his EMUNAND, factory reset his console, makes a new NAND backup with your method (without SXOS) and then creates an EMUNAND in the SD card... That will be free of traces?

I'm in the same position as he is. EMUNAND, NAND copy made from SXOS but never been online neither in CFW or OFW. Also, never associated my nintendo account in any of the partitions. If I delete everything and follow your NAND dump tutorial I will be free of traces, right?

then my guess is that you need to be online for an extended period of time. I just go online update what I need to update and then disconnect. I don't play online at all.

Exact same case... bought pokemon and wanted to play legal. Could you please tell me the steps you followed for ensuring this not happening to anyone else

Well, if he made a clean and full nand backup before using sx os, he still has a chance.

The thing is: if his switch's telemetry system registered this into the logs, he will be doomed forever and should never go online EVER, since the day he goes online, the telemetry will tell Nintendo to ban/exclude both his switch and nintendo account. No way to avoid this unless he always stay offline with this his switch.

I strongly advice him to buy a new switch and create a new nintendo account in it to stay safe and ready for anything 'official', like smash, online mode and so on.

So sad that some people got banned even after backing up their switch nands with sx os.

Do what, right? That's the price you pay for not search enough before doing anything risky like jailbreaking a device.

When talking to nintendo no ban appeared on their database, not user nor console
